Hello Everyone.

Just got back from the mouse yesterday, and while I am sad to be home, I am looking forward to planning the next trip. WARNING: I took over 300 pictures each day we were there, so expect a picture packed report.

Setting the stage:

Myself, Kimberly, and my dear Boyfriend Jason.

Now for the planning (as this gives clues as to what's to come). We decided that instead of spending a ton of money on presents for each other that we may or may not remember next year to save our money and our christmas gifts to each other will be this trip to WDW. This was both of our first times to WDW as well as first time to fly cross country.

After decisions of where and when were made, planning became the next priority. Not knowing where to start, I called in resources to my local AAA for assistance. I booked the Wilderness Lodge for Jan 18-23. Had my Travel Agent book my ADRs at Brown Derby, Cinderella's Royal Table, and Sci Fi Dine-in. Unfortunately since this was a last minute trip, Cinderella's Table was booked. When I got my final print out there was a reservation at California Grill that I hadn't made. I also noticed in the bank accounts there were charges that my wonderful DBF must have "forgotten" to tell me about.

A couple weeks before we were scheduled to leave DBF told me I needed to dress NICE for our dinner reservations on the 18th. I picked out a white sun dress with a halter top from the closet and packed it in the carry on.

Next Episode: Will Kim and Jason have any issues flying across country? Will they make it to their dinner reservations? Will Dinner go as easy as planned? The pictures start next post!! Stay Tuned!!

Because I am so excited about just coming home and not wanting to forget any little second, I am going to continue the story now.

January 18 - Travel Day

DBF and I wake up at a mere 3am to finish packing, load cars, shower and prepare for a long flight from Sacramento CA to Orlando, with a stop in Chicago Midway.

DBF chatting it up with the TSA, he was raised to treat everyone like they were family.

Finally on the plane. Since we left two days before the inauguration, EVERY flight was packed and we met some interesting characters on the planes we flew on.

At last we finally arrived in Orlando at 6:00pm.
img0519jx5.jpg

Checked into Magic Express at 6:05, and quickly were alerted we had just missed the bus, and another one was right on its way. After standing in line 45 minutes, we were wondering if we would make it in time to attend our dinner reservations.

PAUSE - REWIND

Unbenounced to me the Original plans were to get seated at 9, and the wishes fireworks were scheduled to go off at 930. Plenty of time to get off a plane and get to dinner on time. Less than a week prior to our departure our travel agent called DBF and alerted him that the park hours changed and so had Wishes. Instead of being at 930, they were now showing at 800. Thinking this would still be ok, but we would have to be on top of getting to the hotel and instead of proposing after dinner before dessert, it would pretty much be when we get there. The way he was also planning to propose was having my engagement ring on a pillow with roses and a tiara (hence the charges)

Fast Forward - Back to real time
img0520fj3.jpg

After waiting 35 minutes I am getting pissed off for waiting so long, worried I wouldn't be able to make my self over in time for poorly planned dinner reservations made by DBF. Anxious and a few more emotions. At 645 our bus finally arrived. Then the bus driver decided to take a lunch or something, because we waited for more guests for 30 more minutes. At 715 we were finally on our way. We reached our destination at 740. I go to check in and my ID is missing..gone...no where to be found. Now I am not only thinking I ruined his dinner plans but I wont have ANY time to get dressed up ect. As any other highly emotional girl at this point, I broke down and cried. An hour into my vacation at the happiest place on Earth, and I have gone through every emotion except happy.

DBF takes off and talks to the Concierge and then after setting up things with her comes back with out First Time pins and my ID. (Thanks alot I could have used that 5 minutes ago) We check into our room I snapped a quick few pictures for you. My travel agent requested us to have a King size bed, so we were on the bottom floor in a handicap room with a walk in shower, no bath.

Next Episode: Will we make our reservations on time? Will DBF's proposal be as storybook as he planned? How did Disney almost ruin our proposal? Will these first timers believe the Mouse lost his magic??

Tune in Next time!

Wow - I can't wait to hear how the proposal turns out!! Especially the teaser about Disney ruining it ?!?!?!

I know how it felt to loose your ID.
I had my tucked away in may ticket laynard.
I didn't want to carry my purse when we did our tour,
and I needed my ID.
Luckily I remembered after a sheer panic at the airport, where I put it.
Looking forward to the rest of your report.

omg, its midnite and here i am............dangling.................left hanging......a sad sad tourtured soul..........dying to hear your story.............wake up:cheer2: HEYYYYYYYYY WAKE UPPPPPPPPP I SAYYYYYYYY:mic: :badpc:

Now its 7:45 and we just barely got into the room. Reservations are still at 8, and on my paperwork it says arrive early for Firework window seating..HA this wasn't happening.

I preformed a quick change, and an application of my makeup, well sort of I was being rushed...Now I couldn't understand at this point why he was rushing me. DBF was never like this to me. So luckily I decided to pack what we planned on wearing to dinner in our carry-on, along with my makeup...HOWEVER everything for my hair was in our checked baggage... :sad2: Poor planning.

So I got dressed in a white dress,, as well as my DBF put on a White Tommy Bahama Shirt and khaki pants. Mind you everything we had just put on was so wrinkled it could have passed for straight out of the dirty hamper.

Sorry to say I was so preoccupied with how bad I looked I didn't get too many pictures at this point.

With my hair going every which way but right... resembling Cruella Deville. We headed off for dinner. We ran to the front and I hailed a Taxi. :drive:

When we stepped into the cab, I noticed the time. 7:54. Do you know what that really means?? I just got ready in less than 10 minutes...:scared:

We told the Taxi driver we had reservations at the Contemporary Resort at 8, and asked how long it would take to get to that resort. In his broken english to say the best...he squeaked out it would be about 45 mins, but don't worry he take short cut. :faint:

Now for you Disney Veterans you probably would have thought this was a funny Joke, but to us Disney Virgins... we about died.

3 minutes later, we arrived.

img1073py2.jpg

Up to the second floor to the front desk. The Hostess told us it would be a 25-45 minute wait because the fireworks were going off already. At this point I was about to jump over the counter and knock her head off, especially after the taxi cab incident. DBF about snapped too and instead of getting angry because we had made these reservations 3 months in advance, we shouldn't have to wait an additional 45 minutes. He asked to speak with a manager.

Greg the General Manager walked right up to us and knew exactly who we were before we said anything. He asked what I wanted to drink and gave us both a comped glass of wine. While the boys went off to discuss things I was invited to watch the fireworks from the lookout point.

Now, if you were following along with the original plans... The time to ask was over. DBF does a quick recap of all the events that had just taken place, and Greg assures us he will get everything situated.

During all this, here was my view...
img0533wb8.jpg

We were seated immediately after the first window table became available.
img0538sl1.jpg

Recap time: because of Disney Express DBF missed out on the exact time he was to pop the questions.

No biggie one minor setback. UNTIL... Greg came back to the table and pulled DBF away. What I didn't know till later but this is what Greg came to talk about was... The pillow and tiara floral display that DBF spent 150.00 had gone missing. It wasn't at the restaurant, nor any other restaurant in any of the Disney resorts.

In the mean time, or should I say... in my time... Dinner was arriving.

We had the sushi platter for appetizer. Unfortunately that is the only thing I did not get a picture of, but for $25, not worth it for 2 pieces of california roll, and a few pieces of nigiri.

For Dinner I had the Filet Mignon:
img0544ar4.jpg

And DBF had the Breast of Duck with a Cranberry bread pudding:
img0545wv2.jpg

Next Episode: With all DBF's plans out the window, How will he propose? Will Disney recover from their blunders? Will these first timers finally see the magic of disney?

Stay Tuned!

OMG!!! :crazy2: Please don't leave me hanging like this?? What happened next??? popcorn::

Your TR is off to a great start. DBF or is it DF (as in fiancee by now??) sounds like a great guy - treating everyone like family and not losing his cool at California Grill!

Hopefully you get to feeling the happy emotion soon!

The Moment you have been waiting for..... The proposal.

Now at this time, We missed the time DBF originally was planning to ask. The pillow/flowers/tiara was MIA and no chance of finding it, so the way he was going to ask me was out the window.

In one of the converstations Greg the general manager had with DBF, Greg said to give him a nod when DBF was ready to propose. DBF had no idea what Greg had in mind to do special for me, but with a little trust and Pixie dust, DBF gave the nod.

Greg went right into the kitchen and within a moment he was back with a plate.

img0547wi6.jpg

My ring was in a glass slipper, that we got to keep. Greg had also set up to have a photographer in the back ground catching the moment as it happened.
img0019pn1.jpg

Before I saw the plate, I heard a little girl say... Mom there's a ring on that plate. Notice everyone at the tables behind us are watching.

img0020xi1.jpg

We had an audience applaud after I accepted.

Us with the castle in the background.

img0548tm9.jpg

For dessert, I had the creme brulee. Good if you like a strong banana taste... not really my thing, plus I was already so full from dinner.

img0550jm0.jpg

DF (as of now) had the flourless chocolate cake. It was really good.

img0554wx4.jpg

We headed back to the Wilderness Lodge.

img0557ye9.jpg

The newly engaged couple.

Up Next: Day 1 of parks: Epcot. And so starts our hunt for the hard to find engagement pins. Will the pixie dust from Greg spread across the rest of the trip? What ever happened to that pillow/ flowers / tiara that we were still charged for? How many times will DF tell our engagement story to random cast members?? Stay Tuned the next installment is coming soon.

congratulations, lookig forward to reading more :goodvibes

Congratulations! So when's the wedding? Great report can't wait to find out what happened to the pillow etc...

Oh, you are a great storyteller! Congrats! Were you totally surprised or did you have a feeling he was going to ask you? I can't wait to hear the rest of your trip!

Congratulations! It may not seem like it just yet, but in the long run, I'd think it would be a lot more memorable to have a story of how everything went totally wrong than it would have been for everything to have gone according to plan. Not that I'm wishing for such things to happen whenever I get ready to propose (knock on wood) but at least that way we'll have something to tell the kids.

Your absolutely right! and I just love telling the story. One thing I wanted when it came to the day he proposed was a memorable story, I would want to share with everyone.

I hope you come back and tell us how the rest of your trip went.

OMG!! Congrats!! Sorry plans had to change but now at least you have an interesting story to tell. Your poor DF! He must've been a mess!

Oh, you left us all hanging here!!!!! You must finish your story!

Congratulations on the wonderful engagement story. Totally romantic! Did you kind of wonder all along that he was going to proprose or were you utterly shocked when it happened?

I think I'd have been wondering with all of the disappearing acts and suspicious behavior, but then I have knack for examining the details too closely and ruining the surprise for myself.

Come back and finish your story, please!!!!!!!!!
