I read somewhere to tell a CM if it's your first visit at WDW and they will give you a button indicating it's your first time. Is this true? Any benefit to wearing this button other than telling everyone you are first timer?

We recieved our 1st timer buttons when we checked into our hotel. We really didn't see any benefits from wearing them. It was just fun to have something extra to wear! :)

We got one for DD on our trip in October. I mostly wanted it for sentimental reasons. We attached it to her little backpack, but didn't really "get" anything for it. It was just nice to have!

You can get these at Guest Relations in the parks. There is no benefit to wearing them, other than have everyone and their brother ask you why you waited so long to come down! ;)

I love to talk to people with first time buttons on. If you like to talk to people, it's a good conversation starter. I always ask them what they liked best so far and tell them a few "don't miss" things. Not everyone comes here and get info and I don't want them to miss something important if they haven't planned well.

Our BF's are going with us this Dec and it is their first time ever. I plan to make sure that they will have their buttons. 8o) :thumbsup2

On our trip last year, my son recevied a first time button but he didn't receive any extra magic by wearing it. We were a little disappointed.

at magic kingdom you can get them at city hall idk about the other parks

Does anyone have a picture of this button? We are going for the first time in December.

A CM walked up to my sister and gave her one for her 1 year old baby.
She put it on her stroller. She's going to put it in the baby's scrap book.

A woman carrying a basket greeted us at check-in and asked us if it was our first time HERE? we thought she meant at that specific resort, so we answered yes . She handed us a button, which I pinned to our bag. No one ever mentioned the button again. The same thing happened when I wore my birthday button.

My friend had on a birthday button and some CMs pulled her out in the street at MK and made her wear a hat while they sang to her. She took the button off quickly after that!

Last year we celebrated my mother's 75th birthday at Disneyland. We got her a birthday button on check-in, and she wore it happily for the entire time. Some days she had lots of CMs telling her "Happy Birthday" but a couple of days no one said anything, so it probably depends on the individuals and how busy they are.

I'm hoping to be a "first-timer" at WDW later this year, so I will be sure to ask for my button! :D

We got our "first timers" pin as soon as we checked into our resort. I was so proud to finally be there after 41 years, that I wore them every day of our trip! I'm such a dork. Special attention? I don't know. We did win fastpasses twice during our visit, but the dream squad was waiting for the riders as our cars came around to the unloading area, so there's no way they could have "picked" us because were were first-timers.

But, I do think they helped in getting our 3rd dream -- we were waiting in line at AK for rope drop. A CM noticed our buttons and asked if it was our first time there. He asked if we were planning to take the safari ride first. Yes, we were. He asked if we'd like to hold the rope, walk behind Minnie, Goofy and Pluto to the safari and take the very first safari ride of the day. It was absolutely magical! Honestly, I don't think we would have been picked without the buttons. I think we would have just blended in with the other hundreds of people waiting there for 9 am. We also met a lot of other "first-timers" by wearing the buttons -- kinda like you share a common bond, you know?

Thanks. I didn't know they had these. I am going to ask for one for DS. It will be his first trip there in July and we can't wait!

DH and I wore them during our vacation and we didn't receive any extra "perks", but it was a very good icebreaker with the servers at dinner, people you stood next to in line for rides, etc. It's just something fun to do!
