OKay so I am going to HHN in October for the first time. I am absolutely scared!! I am such a chicken so it should be interesting.

I have a few questions and they are all completely unrelated so bare with me.

First, I have heard a lot about the express passes. They are so expensive though. Do you think they are worth the money? Or will I have just as good as a time waiting in the lines with my friends?

Secondly, what rides are open during HHN? I know I have heard that the Mummy is for sure open but what about the rest. And how are the lines for the rides compared to the lines for the houses?

Thirdly, I am a big girl. Well, I have a big butt. Haha, and I was wondering how fat bottomed girls fit on Rip Ride Rock-It? If helps at all I CAN fit my butt into the seats on the hulk but it is VERY VERY tight. I almost couldn't get out, haahaha. However, I have no problems with the straps. Again on the Mummy I just barely had trouble when I rode it due to my butt and thighs. Just a little extra work and one more shove and I was good. Will I be fine for Rip-Ride or maybe not?

Lastly, do they serve drinks in the part during HHN? Because I am definitely going to need some liquid courage. :scared1:

booze stands are all over the park.
you can't miss them.

don't know yet if the blood bags will be sold this year.
i hope they are.

it depends on the hhn date you go if the express pass is needed.
Fridays and Saturdays have long lines as the evening progresses.

i went with the ROF w/express.
i want to avoid standing in lines for 30 minutes in order to spend 4 minutes in a house.

First, I have heard a lot about the express passes. They are so expensive though. Do you think they are worth the money? Or will I have just as good as a time waiting in the lines with my friends? EPs are expensive and Friday/Saturday are the most expensive nights but I think you would have a great time waiting with your friends.

Secondly, what rides are open during HHN? I know I have heard that the Mummy is for sure open but what about the rest. And how are the lines for the rides compared to the lines for the houses? I haven't seen which rides will be open this year. Usually the passholder mailing shows that but this year...nothing was mentioned. I never ride anything during HHN...I can ride stuff during the day...HHN is all about the houses.

Lastly, do they serve drinks in the part during HHN? Because I am definitely going to need some liquid courage. :scared1: As Macraven stated, alcohol is served throughout the park so you will have plenty of chances to purchase some liquid courage.
My answers in blue.

As Metro stated... The rides are open during the day. HHN is all about the atmosphere and the houses.

That said, there was only 1 ride I made a point of riding during HHN. Jaws. It was a totally different experience at night, in the dark, than it was during the day. And due to the park hours, it was rare I'd get a chance to ride it after dark outside of HHN.

Now that Jaws is closed, There really isn't any ride that i'd feel like the evening would give me a different enough experience to be worth taking the time out of the HHN offerings. (Admittedly, It's cool to watch Rip-Ride-RockIt running at night all lit up, but you can't appreciate the lights when riding the attraction after dark)

You ask a very difficult question. Are express passes worth it?

Here's the problem. It's completely an opinion. If you don't mind standing around waiting for 30 minutes to an hour with friends chatting and drinking, then they may not be worth it. If you'd rather spend that time in a house or seeing Bill and Ted a 2nd time or riding rides, then it might be worth it.

The other problem with the question is people's locations. There are a number of local people who respond. Being able to go whenever you want, waiting isn't as big a deal as it is if you spend hours flying down, plus the costs..etc..etc.

So, I think this is one you'll need to answer yourself. We are going opening night and are getting express passes. Do we "need" them. No, we could probably do every house without. But we'll use them. We'll do every house and go back and do some a second time if we didn't use express for the first round.

We're also going back Saturday and will not have express, so we'll simply pick and choose what we want to do.

And for reference - I consider 30 minutes a long wait :) I'm spoiled though as we've stayed onsite every single time we've visited. For HHN without express, I expect waits to be longer as the night goes on.
