I'm going to Florida for the first time and staying on International drive, I'm not hiring a car and I just want to know do Disney run transport along the drive and is it free with park tickets ?
Cheers

Hello! Im sorry to tell u this but disney don't do transport to their parks from i-drive (well ive never heard of it)- i went with my boyfriend this sept and we didnt drive either... however i can tell you how to get there by bus!
On international drive there are bus stops up and down it called i-ride trolley stops. All you have to do is get to stop 38 in the iRide route (south of iDrive) and change over to the Lynx bus 50 which is outside seaworld, asking the bus driver if they're going to Disney... no problem! The lynx takes you to the transportation and ticket centre and from there diney provide free transport to wherever you want to visit (all the theme parks, downtown disney). You just do the reverse of this to get back! Alternatively, if you miss the last iRide going home up iDrive (the last one leaves seaworld at 10pm), just take the number 7 Lynx northbound.

Id recommend the buses although the iride trolley can get very full at times (they look really cute- old style buses but dont have much room- they do tell u what is at each stop tho over a microphone which is very handy!)
You could always take a mini bus to the parks but it was quite expensive, about £10 return per person a day.
I hope that helps, feel free to ask anything- prices or anything! We became 'experts' in the transport system around to all the themeparks during our stay!

Have a great holiday,

Tammy

Some of the hotels on I-Drive provide a free (or low-cost) shuttle to Disney. Check with your hotel or tour operator to see if this is the case for the holiday that you've booked.

If you are able to hire a car for your holiday I would strongly recommend that you do. Although it is possible to get around on public transport/taxis the flexibility and convenience of having your own transport can't be beaten in my book.

I can only echo what Rob has said

On our first trip we did one week without a car and one week with, lets just say the second week was sooo much easier, and we stayed at LBV which is much closer than I drive.

Second trip we had a car for the full 3 weeks, cant imagine why we ever did that one week without it!.

IMHO hire a car,for the flexibility and ease, you'll end up spending most of your holiday queing and time watching,if you dont.

"EVERYBODY DANCE NOW!"

I can only echo what Tazz said - that's the most reliable way by busses as there are always more... it certainly works, but you will have to stand every now and then!

If you drive then you must rent a car. It gives you so many more options.

Cannot imagine being in Orlando without one.

I can appreciate that if you have never driven before maybe people can be a bit wary, we still take wrong turnings now and next year will be our 10th trip but as the replies to your post reflect it would be a real hassle to rely on a bus to get you everywhere.
