Hi, This will be our first time camping at Disney. We love camping at home but I am a little nervous, about not liking camping while at Disney, due to we usually stay in a hotel. But I hear it is really beautiful there at Christmas time.

I do have a few questions:
1. Do most of you get a site only or MYW package? If MYW package, what are the benefits to getting it besides the discounts. We have a site only booked but trying to decide if we should change it into a package.

2. We will be there Dec. 28, 2013 to Jan. 7, 2014:cool1:, how long do most of you keep your Christmas decorations up? I am just wondering if, we will be able to still enjoy the holiday decorations around the campground and also if it would pay for us to decorate our campsite getting there so late after christmas.

Thanks :thumbsup2

Can't help regarding the MYW packages, we always just do the site since we have passes. You will have no problem seeing decorations. We were just there a couple weeks ago and there were still some up. Don't be nervous regarding camping vs. staying in a hotel. The fort is so much more relaxed and personal than a hotel ever thought of being. My DW was also concerned when I bought up the subject of Fort Wilderness but after her first trip staying there she can never wait to get back and tells everyone she knows that has a camper that they need to stay there.

We always get the MYW package (site & tickets). There are cheaper ways but this is the most convenient.

We were there Jan 2 until Jan 10 this year and were shocked at how long WDW kept up there decorations.

Site only for us, we have never gotten the package, we like the 10 day non expire, or the AP's.

Thanks for the replies. I am glad to here that there will still be campsites decorated when we are there. That is one of the reasons we chose to stay there.
Would still like more opinions on whether its worth to get a package or site only reservation? We have a site only right now and was thinking of changing it to a package. If I do change to package my understanding is that they cancel your site only and then make a package with new deposits. There is nothing available for my select dates for preferred. How does that work if they cancel my current reservation is there any chance of not getting the package reservation? Thanks again for the replies.
