Hi all!

Well we are back from our trip.. just got back a few days ago. We ate alot, the scale doesn't like me when we returned so I'm just going to continue to glare at it and wonder why it's broken. ;) We weren't on a dining plan so everything was paid out of pocket, I will try to include prices of everything as well. Also, we ordered Garden Grocer for some lunch time/snacks.

I'm Pamela, and this is my first time to Disney. I went with my love, Matthew. We missed the hurricane and earthquake in NYC, instead we got a humid week in Florida!

This is on our first night while it rained:

Via Napoli - Epcot - Italy

Well we love pizza. You need to know that up front. We also live in Brooklyn, NY so we're already spoiled by good pizza.. but this is quality pizza. It was so good Matthew asked everyday if we could just have Via Napoli.. every single night! :rotfl:

We got there and there was a super long line:
6077123195_7b0e3d7e2f_z.jpg

Thankfully we had a reservation for 8:30PM so we were able to cruise right in. We only had to wait about 5 minutes before they called our name. I had no idea Via Napoli was so big, I've seen pics and I thought it was just one section, but there's another room off to the side... the other room isn't as pretty or much to look around in, but whatever, we were there to stuff our faces full of pizza!

Here's the only shot of the room to the side where we were seated in:
6077661964_3ca62c69f2_z.jpg

One thing to note: bring a sweater... It was cold in here!

We had a super nice waitress, I forget her name, but she was sweet. She kept making sure everything was good and when we told her yes she would say "really?". :lmao:

Appetizers, let's go!
I had the Gamberetti Fagioli - Shrimp, cannelini bean salad, extra olive oil, lemon juice - $8.00
I wasn't going to get this but then I spotted this shrimp bean salad through the window and had to. Let me just tell you, I would eat this as a meal (I would need multiples). It was delicious!
6077123695_778136b3f5_z.jpg

Matthew got the Salami e Provolone - Dry cured sausage, imported provolone cheese - $7.00
The waitress when ordering told him "It's very small". It was and I'm not sure if it was worth $7 in size, but the cheese was very good.
6077660622_8d4e20f51b_z.jpg

For drinks:
Matthew got a diet coke, no picture, not exciting. Will say though it was quality fountain diet coke.. mmm. Also free refills and they were quick about them!

I got the Blood Orange Acqua Fresca. I was kinda sad that they didn't have the lemonade one, but it's ok. If you go you must get this! It was sweet and refreshing. For dessert I ate the orange out of my glass. :rotfl:
6077123381_7d06e25bdb_z.jpg

OK, PIZZA TIME!

We got the build your own large Margherita with pepperoni, mushroom and prosciutto on top. Toppings were $2 a piece. When it first came out it was missing the prosciutto, so they took it back and boy did they add the prosciutto - how did all this just cost $2? Actually it was free.. because they messed up, they only charged us for 1 topping. :yay::yay:
6077122393_5c3b804371_z.jpg

This pizza was pure delicious. The dough was light, the sauce sweet, the cheese and toppings: amazing. Was it better than my favorite Brooklyn pizza? No. But was it still A+? Yes, it was!

Matthew isn't big on proscuitto, and there was alot of it, so I basically was eating prosciutto off the pizza by itself too. :rotfl: It was so good.

Another pic:
6077122697_8d99c1f7d7_z.jpg

We finished the entire pizza, but it took us a while. We were really stuffed. The waitress came coming back to try to persuade us to keep eating it all. We basically were sharing the last piece a little at a time..

No dessert, way too stuffed.

The pizza gods at work:

We got here on time for our reservation but we had to wait probably 25 minutes.. We were really hungry. :worship:

6078266339_70d0601310_z.jpg

There was a ton of people waiting.

Some pictures while we waited for our names to be called:

Our names were finally called and we got seated to a room on the side. We were told our Uncle Gary would be with us very soon. Here is a picture of the table across from us who just left:
6078265561_d7bfc5e991_z.jpg

Let me just say that Uncle Gary was the best. I was worried we would get someone who would be mean or not fun, but Gary was like a real uncle. He was very sweet and nice and made Matthew do things for me "angel".

First thing, Gary asked if Matthew had a job. Matthew said yes. Gary said "Great, well here's another one, set the table".
6078265657_e55d159920_z.jpg

Note that Matthew has no hat on too... definitely had to come off. :lmao:

Next we ordered. After we ordered Gary gave Matthew the menus and told him to take them back.
6078265759_f69b9213e8_z.jpg

Gary introduced us to everyone sitting around us as "Their cousins from Brooklyn". Whenever anyone new came in, he always remembered the locations, he was really good.

Drinks:
Matthew got a diet coke, was good.
I got a diet coke flavored with cherry, free refills. Was real good!
6078265919_c3757f6553_z.jpg

Dinner time:
I got: Aunt Liz's Golden Fried Chicken - Served with Mashed Potatoes, Chicken gravy, and Southern greens - $15.99
Instead of southern greens I got green beans.

Closeup of a leg (my favorite):
6078265005_8553740b64_z.jpg

Matthew got: Dad's Traditional Meatloaf - A blend of beef and pork topped with tomato glaze served with mashed potatoes, and green beans. - $14.99
6078806582_2f3a582f8b_z.jpg

Proportion size, Matthew's was pretty tiny. Mine though was alot. I couldn't eat the big piece of chicken so I gave it to Matthew. Gary thought I ate it all though because when I finished (plate was empty) he held it up and told everyone that "A small girl can eat this much, you can too, she even licked it clean". :rotfl: I love Gary.

Another fun moment: A family near us had a older gentleman, I presume a grandfather. He didn't eat his greens. Gary didn't like this. So he told everyone that this didn't set a good example for the kids. He told everyone to put their arms out like a airplane and make the sounds, then Gary flew the greens into the man's mouth. The man was shamed, but in a good way. :rotfl:

Another fun moment: A couple next to us were just married. They were together for a year. Uncle Gary asked us how long we have been together (we're not married) and we said 9 years. He wanted to know what was the problem. :lmao:

For dessert, we had to...
Matthew got:
Hot Fudge Sundae $4.99
6078806796_e7ef4139cb_z.jpg

I got:
Dad's Brownie Sundae - Rich fudge brownie with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and caramel topping. - $5.99
6078265195_21f6cf7a84_z.jpg

Note the sprinkles are mouse ears. Man was this good. It was devilish good.

There was no way I could finish this.. what was left (notice Matthew was still taking his last spoonful of mine).
6078806002_3ffae65d1c_z.jpg

Overall this was fun and I would definitely go back again. I hope to get Uncle Gary again. We liked him alot so we left him this on a napkin.. hope it made him smile. :goodvibes

Garden Grocer Review (not really dining, but food related, so thought I'd include it):

We ordered Garden Grocer about 4 weeks before our trip. I thought everything was set and was going to be stress free.. unfortunately it wasn't. We asked that the food be delivered between 1-3PM, but I got a text that it was delivered at 9:30AM. Ok, whatever, at least it's there, right? Our room at Pop wasn't ready until basically 3PM (Agh) so we were waiting to check into our room, get our food and use that for lunch. At 3PM I called downstairs at Pop and asked them about our grocery delivery, they said it would be right up to our room. Well 5PM rolls around and nothing is delivered, so I called them again. Pop said someone went off their shift and never told anyone to deliver it, so apologies, but it would be right up. Grrrr.. we're hungry btw. During this time my luggage is semi missing too so I'm a bit stressed. Our groceries arrive to our room and the majority of all the cold items are missing. AGH. So basically our lunch for that day, the next day is completely ruined.... :( I called Garden Grocer and was put on hold many times and finally they arranged for my cold items to be delivered the next day. :(

At about 3PM the following day, Pop still didn't deliver my new items so I went downstairs. The items were there waiting for me. Grrr.....

How the items are delivered + water

Some snacks, we would use this for breakfast too everyday:

Loving your reviews so far! And great pix too!

Your description and pix of the pizza at Napoli make me wish we had reg. DDP this trip. We are going QSDP again this year. Actually we enjoyed it last year-not having to make a single ADR was great!

More please....

Anandapur Ice Cream Truck - Animal Kingdom

It rained pretty wildly when we were at Animal Kingdom for about an hour. This was after it cleared up so everyone got in line for some ice cream to cheer them up.

Matthew only got something here, he got a root beer float. I think he was going to get a cone but changed his mind last minute. I asked him for a review and he said "ace". :lmao:

This is the truck:

Safari Eggrolls Kiosk - Animal Kingdom

While it was raining, Matthew sent me on a mission to find him a ice cream cone which I couldn't as all the ice cream vendors were gone (it was raining). On my trip though I saw the egg roll kiosk and I remembered a review on DIS so thought why not..

I got a shrimp egg roll. They also had pork and vegetable.
They handed it to me and I thought "This is sorta tiny".

6091130608_4c68753059_z.jpg

It was very skinny.

Inside:
6091130752_747a4b1fac_z.jpg

I see some shrimp... sorta.

Verdict: Yuck, dont do it. Probably one of the things I disliked the most here which is sad because I love eggrolls. It just didn't taste fresh, it tasted like a eggroll that you buy in the grocery supermarket and microwave.

Total: $2.29
