We will be at WDW August29-September 3. We will be arriving around 4pm. Where should we go first? I have heard many people say not to waste a park ticket when arriving late, but we have a package and have 6 MYW tickets. Which park do you suggest for the first day. We do not have the park hopper option.

Thanks

I always go to MK the first night to see Wishes!

But, you could always go to HS and see Fantasmic:wizard:

Hi and welcome!!

Where will you be staying? Do you have ADRs for dinner?

Who is going... any kids?

Finally, how long a day is it for you-- will you be traveling all day long and be likely to be wiped out?

We will be staying at the All Star Sports. Husband, Wife, Daughter (18) and son (8). We will be driving in from Atlanta @7 hrs. We do not have ADRs for the first night.

After a 7 hour drive in the heat, my first suggestion would probably be a dip in the pool, followed by dinner.

After that: you've driven all that way to see Mickey Mouse. I vote for the Magic Kingdom.

Wander around for a while, then head back home. Since Spectro is on its last day of hiatus, don't even worry about hanging around long enough for the fireworks; you can do them both another night.

The nice thing about the new ticket pricing, adding a day with a 6 day pass is around $2-3.00 per person, so it isn't a waste of a ticket! We like Pecos Bills for burgers. I haven't tried it, but Cosmic Rays in Tomorrowland gets great reviews. Others prefer the Columbia Harbor House or Pinnochios (can't recall the exact name...it is in Fantasyland)
I would do MK or choose a park that you think you might need to spend the extra half day in. You could also see who has late night EMH to give you a little more flexibility with time limits. Have a great trip!

We are new aswell. We are arriving on Aug 28th, late afternoon. We have decided to eat and then go to MK on arrival. Will be staying at POR until Sept 14th. I bet your really excited as not long to go now:cheer2:

Agree with the others that MK is great for the first night. Wishes will be at 10pm that night. Or you could go to Epcot, which has evening EMH that night and see Illuminations.

Keep in mind that you will need to plan about 90 minutes or so for checking into the hotel and getting to your room and getting settled. There is lots to see so you will probably spend some time looking around at the resort. By that time you will probably be hungry, unless you grab a snack (MICKEY BARS!!).

Have fun!

Hi, new poster here, but been to WDW Many, many times!

When we get in late, we usually spend the first night at Downtown Disney. But then again, we love to shop at the Magic of Disney Store. You can eat at the Rainforest, or go for fast food if you want. If you have a dining deal, then I wouldn't waste my first night using a meal, go for a quick dinner at Mc Donald's instead. Easy and cheap.

Have a great trip!

Regardless of the time or how tired we are, we always go to MK on the first night...even if it's just for a few hours.
