Could someone explain it to me very simply? Most of the online guides explain the old way and questions on here seem to be about how it is different, but since I haven't done it before that doesn't really help.
Make sure you have an account through the DCL website. From there, click my reservations and enter your cruise. When you enter your cruise to your profile on the website, it is very easy to locate where you can start your check-in process or start booking activities.
Since you are a first-timer, there will be a set date where you can start booking shore excursions, ship activities, adult dining, etc.
There is another area where you can start check-in. Now, you won't be able to complete your entire check-in until a specific date as well. I think it is the date that you can start booking activities. However, you will be able to fill out some of the online check-in before that specific date. If you are on at the exact time that the rest of the check-in opens, you will be able to get the next best port arrival time, etc. That is only important if you plan on getting to the terminal first thing in the morning. It is also important depending on where you are cruising out of.
I finally get to check in on Saturday for our Sept 9th Med cruise and I'm not able to check in until the 11th. I logged in and its just the reservation showing so no info can be put in beforehand on my reservation.
