We visit WDW in FL every year but we are seriously considering going to CA and doing Disney (among other things) this year. How do the tickets work? Are there passes like Park Hoppers at WDW where you can hop back and forth between Disneyland and California Adventure? What's the cost and how can you get discounts? (AAA, Disney Club, etc?)

We wanted to stay at a Disney Hotel - we're thinking about Paradise Pier. Anyone stayed there - what's it like?

Sorry for all the questions - I'm going to the bookstore and get a Disneyland book so I can start reading up. We're also going to San Diego and we'll do some LA touristy stuff.

Yes, there are Park Hopper's like WDW, with the exception that DLR hopper do expire between 13 days after first use to 2 years depending on where you buy them. AAA is the way to go, if you are going to go during 2003. They are offering "Passport Plus" passes that include some great extras - including unlimited fast pass, which allows you to hold multiple FP at one time, free parking in the Mickey & Friends parking structure, $10 game card for ESPN zone and 1 free breakfast per person/pass.

They do cost a bit more then regular hoppers but the extras MORE then pay for the difference. They are $122.75 for adults/$99.75 for children.

You can get the special Passport Plus tickets by calling Walt Disney Travel also. I just ordered mine today. Yeah!

Thanks guys for the info on passes. We're AAA members so I'll probably go that route. I'm very excited about this. I can't wait to ride the Indiana Jones Adventure. Sounds like fun! I like the idea of multiple FP's.

Anyone care to comment on their favorite Disneyland Resort - and why???
