First Timer Needs Help!

OK, I bought the Disneyland Passporter so I do have that. I am still a bit lost. I have a few questions.

1. I was planning to go Memorial Day Week in 2007. Am I crazy for doing this or should I wait until the next week?

2. Where can I find menus to DL restaurants?

3. Is there a website similar to Steve Soares website for WDW which gives all show times and is updated each week?

4. Can you get Dole Whips at DL and if so where?

5. Will POTC be closed during the time listed above, or any rides for that matter?

6. Does anyone know the exact date of the new Nemo ride opening?

7. Does DL have the same amount of character interactions as WDW? I noticed some of the characters they have at WDW are not listed at the DL site.

1. I was planning to go Memorial Day Week in 2007. Am I crazy for doing this or should I wait until the next week? Well, it is a holiday weekend, so it will be busy. The lines will be longer, but if you use fast pass, go early, plan your day, etc, you'll be fine.

2. Where can I find menus to DL restaurants? There is info here at the Dis or you can go to www.dlresortinfo.com

3. Is there a website similar to Steve Soares website for WDW which gives all show times and is updated each week? can't answer that one

4. Can you get Dole Whips at DL and if so where?Yes, outside of the Tiki room in Adventure land.

5. Will POTC be closed during the time listed above, or any rides for that matter?To early to know. There have been rumors of the premier party for pirates 3 sometime in May. No dates at this time. Other refub shedules wont be out until much closer to time.

6. Does anyone know the exact date of the new Nemo ride opening?Nope. Disney had not announced it yet. Its moved from spring 07 to summer 07, so I wouldnt count on it being done by May.

7. Does DL have the same amount of character interactions as WDW? I noticed some of the characters they have at WDW are not listed at the DL site.No WDW experience, so I can't compare the two. But there is usually a good selection of characters between the two parks. Is there someone you are hoping to see?

I was asking about characters other than the princesses and the main characters. For example, we saw chicken little at WDW and I did not see him listed along with Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Monsters, Inc (mike and sulley) and a few others.

There are a few set spots with scheduled characters. For example, the princesses in front of the castle. Then there are others that you'll just find out and about. Our last trip we saw Wendy and Mulan together a few times. It was an odd combo.

Chicken Little and some of his friends could be found in DCA last year around this time. Not sure if they are still coming out or not. The Incredible family can sometimes be found over there as well. We usually dont worry about it too much- just find who we can. Some days we see a lot, others days not. Some trips also seem to have more then others. The year we went in early Dec we saw more characters then any other trip.

They are currently listed up through Feb. 2007. Check this link http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/calendar/monthly/monthly?name=CalendarMonthlyPage about 4 months before you go. Also shows all closures, hours, etc.

4. Can you get Dole Whips at DL and if so where?-Yep, Adventureland, Tiki Room

5. Will POTC be closed during the time listed above, or any rides for that matter?-Check Disney site. I would be surprise if it was down, unless the Pirates movie is premiering when you go.

I noticed some of the characters they have at WDW are not listed at the DL site.-Having been to both (and both in Sept recently) I can say that WDW, to me, has more characters. We were at DL a few weeks ago and saw very few characters the whole day.

Let me know if I can help, we go to DL alot since we only live 30 min. away and have AP.

When you go in May/June, make sure you bring warmer clothes for the evenings. No matter how hot it is during the day, our evenings are almost always cool (and a little damp). It's not unusual for a 30 deg. drop at night!
