What do you think? Im just not sure about it yet. I have no idea how long to plan for each park :confused3

wow, looks like a fun trip! here are my thoughts... i would switch your six day for a seven day hopper, only a few dollars a piece and you could hit a little bit of the MK on your way to chef mickey's in the morning or after you are done eating...

next, why such late meals/nights? is your family used to being up 'til midnight? my kids would be tired and cranky and well, just plain miserable if they waited 'til 9:30 to eat dinner! also, you are going from a 9:30 dinner one night, which will keep you up late and have to be up and out and at breakfast the next morning by 8! YIKES! i expect that 6/11 will be an all-around ugly day unless you plan to nap in the middle of it...

otherwise your plan looks good as far as what parks and such... i would just change those meals around if you can... and try to eat earlier!

Looks like your kids are much like my DD4 and can go all day and stay up late. Some kids just don't require as much rest as others. So I'll assume that's the case with the late PS's.

My suggestions are:
-- You don't seem to be spending much time at Epcot for a first-timer, esp with kids age 6 and 8. I would definitely fill that open slot on your last day with Epcot.
-- I think you should stick with the 6-day hopper since you probably want DD to rest for the 5pm competition.
-- The PS at 1900 Park Fare seems a bit odd after a full day at AK. Your kids would probably love Rainforest Cafe at AK or Downtown Disney. You could head from AK to Downtown Disney, eat at Rainforest and get a hot fudge sundae at Ghirardelli's. Plus, you'll at least get a glimpse of Downtown Disney that way. You could do 1900 PF on June 12.
-- Lastly and most importantly, don't play with knives like JR Giddens. (yes, there are Mizzou fans on this board) :teeth:

Have a rock-chalk trip!

I guess I forgot to put that we are planning on napping in the afternoons...sorry.

We don't want to plan much on the 8th because we want DD rested as much as possible for her competition that night. One thing I wondered was if we should hit MKs EMH that night after she competes. She will be done and out by 9:30 or 10 at the latest.

We are very used to late dinenrs and late nights during the summer. Being a farm family we sometimes don't eat until very late especially during harvest. The kids are used to it. Plus it was all we could get lol. I may try and call again today and see if there are any early times open yet.

Thanks so much for your help :)

edited to add--

We changed the times to eat a little earlier at CRT and Ohana. We cant get any other time or day at 1900 Park Fare.

I do like the idea of going to DTD on the 9th. I couldnt figure out how to fit that in, so maybe I will just cancel 1900 all together.

Anything else Im missing??

We don't usually go to a park on arrival day... we go to DTD, or resort hopping. THis way we save up our energy and get a good night's rest and hit the park first thing the next am. This past trip in March we did a character dinner at CHef Mickey's to get in the "mood". It was great!

And the deaprture day we do the same... last minute shopping at DTD and lunch there usually.

Also, since you're staying onsite, find out when the EMH parks are. I know people have mixed feeling about this. But on our last trip, we did a non evening EMH park during the day, and then switched to the EMH park late afternoon or evening. We loved the evening EMH and got to ride everything many times!

Just some ideas, sounds like a great trip though!

Hi! I hope you have a great first trip! I'm a bit confused...are you taking advantage of EMH or no? It seems that you have days scheduled in the parks with EMH, but on the opposite end of the day :confused3 . June 10 is an EMH morning for MK, but you have MK planned for that evening and Epcot that morning. June 12th is EMH evening for DS, but you plan to be there in the morning and MK in the evening. I'm just not sure if you're wanting to avoid EMH. If so, I'd change some days around and not go to the park that has EMH at all that day.

Ok I have totally re-done the plan...how does this look? Any better or have I really screwed it up?

Also we will be going to the resort in the afternoons for naps :)

Didn't you buy 6-day park hoppers? But I only see 5 park days (assuming you're going to a park on the last day). Non-expiration option isn't worth saving 1 day, so I guess you'll just lose that 6th day. Plus, you're down to one day at MK-- not much time for a first-timer and kids your age. I'd definitely add MK to your last day.

I'd also suggest doing 50s PTC for dinner and Pizza Planet for lunch. PTC has bigger meals like fried chicken and meatloaf.

on the 12th when you go to AK and 'ohana, you can probably revisit the magic kingdom for a few hours (is it EMH?)...

also, since you have another park day available to you, you might consider your first night heading over to epcot for dinner, especially since you don't have an early morning ahead of you the next day... just to get you in the mood... garden grill is a character dinner which we've always enjoyed (although the menu has recently changed but it's still a chance to meet mickey!)... and that would give you a little taste of epcot, maybe even enough time to get thru a portion of world showcase or future world, possibly catching illuminations, which is an amazing show!
