So this will be our first trip to Disney and we are trying to plan as much in advance. We would like any tips on purchasing passes etc. before we go, also any tidbits of info that you all could provide. We would like to go to Universal Studios, Disney and possibly a few others.

Also, hopefully some relaxation for the adults!

I'm a first-timer, too, and here's my advice:

- Buy the book, "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" - it'll answer SO many questions, and includes info on Universal and Sea World as well.

- Hang out here on the DIS, reading discussions and asking questions as they come up.

- Check out the other prominent Disney websites, such as mousesavers.com and others mentioned in the Unofficial Guide.

Have a wonderful time!!

Concerning Disney tickets, there are a few places you can get discounted tickets. The best thing is to go to mousesavers.com and sign up for the newsletter. It comes out once a month and has a link in it to discounters to get tickets a bit cheaper than usual.
Of course, if you are making a package reservation at one of the disney hotels, your tickets will be part of the package. Then it may not be cost effective to buy the tickets separately. I have never used a package, and have always bought the tickets separately through the mousesavers newsletter.
For the other parks in Orlando, there are deals you can get through AAA if you are a member. AAA also has discounts on disney hotels.
Other than that, if you ask specific questions it is easier to get answers. You should buy a guide book, the unoficial book is a good one.
