HELLO! Last time I went to Disney I was around 9 years old....actually, I was at Disney when EPCOT was being built....ouch - am I really that old??? :sad2: Anyway, Now I am a mother to three and our family is going to Disney in January of 07.... I just rented an amazing Condo, so the trip is going forward. I am staying for one week, and was planning on purchasing magic your way tickets for 4 days.....my children are not "BIG" ride fans, so any suggestions would greatly be appreciated!!!

There is so much to think about, so much to plan, I just get overwhelmed as I read the discussion boards..... :surfweb:

THANKS FOR ANY HELP IN PLANNING FORWARD............

If you haven't already, you may want to purchase a couple of guide books -- the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World and the PassPorter are two very good ones. You didn't mention the ages of your kids but Birnbaum's has a book for kids. Have your family look at these and try to get an idea of what everybody's "must do's" are and then plan your park days around that. For our first trip ever I made a list of all the attractions in each park and then had each family member rate them as either a "must do", "would really like to do" and "no thanks". Visit here often, everyone loves  talking about WDW :sunny:

Hi  and welcome to the DIS. Everyone here is so helpful. Just by reading other peoples posts you will gain so much information. You may want to check out Mousesavers.com for ticket information. Mary has a link to ticketmainia and I beleive undercover tourist for great deals on purchasing your tickets in advance. Good luck with your planning.

That is great advice! One thing I have learned is how important planning your strategy to the theme parks is........I never thought about any of that until I joined this discussion board! I always thought booking the hotel/flight/car rental were the most important! ALthough they are, I already booked a great condo 2 miles from Disney, and transportation is taken care of....so, now it is off to theme park strategy!! It can be so overwhelming!! I am purchasing the UG book on Amazon TODAY!!!! ALso, I learned about Tour

Might want to join Tour Guide Mike.

Thanks for the info! I subscribed to another discussion that is all about Tour Guide Mike........I am definitely subscribing to it as well as getting the unofficial guide book!!!!

I want to plan wisely, but not obsess to the point where I am no longer looking forward to the vacation..........there is alot of information out there, and so many opinions.....I just want to do what is right for our family! This is taking a year to plan and a year to save up for - so I want to get it right!! :clown:

THANKS!

the best advice I can offer is to pack an extra empty suitcase or duffel bag to bring home souvenirs. And definetly bring a pop-up laundry basket so everyone can put their laundry in that instead of throwing it on the floor and then wondering what's clean/dirty. My 3rd and final piece of advice is to pack even the most random things...even it you think you won't need it, I promise you, halfway through the week you will wish you had it (ie, a small pair of scissors, tweezers, a needle/thread, caladryl/calamine lotion, extra hair elastics, etc etc.)
