First timer culture shock - You might be surprised.

Being that this will be my first Half race and I have only done one local 5k, I don't have anything to post from experience. But I went onto Youtube and typed in WDW Half Marathon '08 and saw a video clip of a guy running with headgear, shield and sword????? You can't see who this guy is but how uncomfortable would this have to be to run in for 13 miles??

I've seen a lot of crazy costumes, but the one that still makes me shake my head is the guy who did the 2007 full wearing a complete spandex Mr Incredible's costume - gloves included. It was so hot and humid that year, I can't imagine just standing in a costume like that, much less putting in 26.2 miles!

Then there is the senior citizen I passed about mile 12 of my first half. He was walking with a cane and from the way he limped I know he had an artificial leg.....gee it only took me 12 miles to catch an old geezer with one leg and a cane. I also have to admit that I was amazed at the sheer number of guys who used the side of the road for a potty. I guess it freed up the facilities for the ladies!!

I didn't see this guy at Race for the Taste but my DH and DD who were waiting for me at the finish line did. They said the cheers were twice as loud as this guy crossed the finish line. I wonder why! Atleast he has the body needed to wear that outfit!!!

Actually, I know him. He said it was all UA Heat geaer and not that bad. I think the worse one was teh storm trouper who did teh half that year.

Holy Moly Denise!!! I haven't laughed that hard while I was in my office in a long time. Glad I'm the only one here!! I love the one with him and Mickey and Minnie!!!

Oh my especially the close up of his number - guess Joshua ran the Goofy - I wonder what he wore for the half!! I also love the picture of him with the 2 ladies - the one in the green doesn't look like she wants to get too close
