Hi Everyone,
I cannot believe my trip is 5 days away!!!!

We have 5 cabins. This is our first time staying at the fort. I have been there in the past for the HDDR and when river country was there!

Can anyone give me some tips.

We are there for 8 nights !!!!!!!! I am so excited today that I could just burst!

We do have two golf carts from Kenney!

Thanks,
Terry

Well just BURST away , Terry !! Cause ya'll are gonna have the time of yer life !!
And of course we will need to see documentation in the form of trip report and pictures once your trip is over.

You do realize that what you are about to do is like a drug , don't you ?? The Fort can be extremely addicting, with just one dose !!:woohoo:

Thanks!!

That is what I was thinking - a future addict I will def. be!

YAY!!!! You are going to LOVE it! Hope y'all have a great time! We will be there the same time your group will :)

Congrats! You will indeed enjoy it and will be planning your next trip soon after. My biggest tip is to simply set aside some time to enjoy Fort Wilderness itself. Anything from the swimming pool, lounging on the Trail's End porch, nightly movie and s'mores to horseback riding, hiking or sitting back at your cabin and taking in the atmosphere.

Remember to share a trip report and lots and lots of pics. Have fun!

Have a wonderful trip! My tip would be to make a plan and be flexible enough to change your plan. You should have plenty of time to enjoy Disney and all that there is to offer. Go slow, take in the sights and relax, whether in the parks or the campground.

I'll be looking forward to a trip report when you return!

Five Cabins??? How big is your group? Family/ Friends? Company? Strangers? ;)

My thoughts were the same as Ken's.

What a big group! :scared1:

Hope everybody gets along with each other. :rotfl2:

Seriously, I echo TOGA's advice earlier. Make sure you leave a couple hours every other day or so to enjoy being at the Fort. Sit out on the deck in the mornings and listen to the boat whistles and steam train toots from the MK. The Illuminations fireworks go off about 10 minutes after 9 pm at EPCOT. I enjoy the sights, smells, and sounds of the Fort.

There are 14 of us total - my Aunt wanted her own cabin.

My parents are coming- my two sisters with there husbands and kids.
Actually it is great because it is 14 total and out of the 14 only 4 are kids!!! The 4 childeren are my parents grandkids!

My sister and I have been planning this for over a year and within that year my sister was diagnosed with Hodgkins. She went through chemo from Jan. - April 2011 and she is now fine and her hair is growing back, she is so excited for this trip. My dad is a 10 year colon cancer survivor and he loves Disney and wants us all to go - and my parents are celebrating there 40th anniversary this month - so lot's to celebrate.

As long as you're not traveling in a VW bug this should work. Actually, congratulations to the whole group. Lots to celebrate and WDW is the best place to do it. Do enjoy the Fort while you are there. There's lots to do there as well as in the Parks.
