We're staying at the CSR for the first time in March. Two families are traveling together and I want our rooms to be together. Is this hard to
accomplish? Also, which building would be best if we want to be close to
The dig site pool?
Thanks in advance :)

You should request connecting rooms before you arrive by calling Disney. I think you can link the two reservation numbers together. I would recommend that you not do online check-in so you can work with a CM at check-in to get rooms together (you can still do this with online check-in, but your packet will already be made and it will have to be reprinted if you change rooms).

Our favorite location at CSR is cabana 8A - it is very close to the Dig Site and to the cabanas bus stop. It is a popular location to request, especially since it is not a preferred building but has a great location. A less popular request but just as close to the Dig Site is Ranchos 7B. 7B also has a quiet pool and laundry. 7B is a little farther to the main building/food court.

I would call Disney reservations and make two requests (in order of importance to you): connecting rooms with the reservation number of the other family, and close to Dig Site. I wouldn't request a specific building, because if they can't put you both in that building, they don't know why you asked for it.

I wouldn't make any more than two requests, and I'd put the most important one first. The CMs at check-in will work with you to find connecting rooms, but you may have to move to a different building or even change rooms the second day.

Have a great trip! CSR is one of our favorite resorts! :goodvibes

How are they with upgrades at CSR? Also, I understand there is a shuttle to
Use around the property...how efficient/reliable is that?

The shuttle for resort guests was stopped years ago (it is used by convention guests if they pay for this service). However, on occasion, you will find a driver will stop and ask you if you want a ride.

While it is true that there is no more non-convention shuttle service, depending on where you are you can use the resort busses to partly get around. Except for the DTD bus that runs in the reverse order, the bus stops in order are Casitas (stop #2), Ranchos (stop #3), Cabanas (stop #4), and El Centro (lobby/food/store area stop #1), then to the parks. Of course, sometimes walking is faster than waiting for a bus................ It's a beautiful resort and a nice walk around the grounds.

There are some people who have posted on the CSR thread that they have been upgraded from standard to preferred or standard to water view. Someone posted on the thread that they just got back, and two of the three rooms in their group got upgraded to junior suites! It just depends on what rooms they need to fill and a little pixie dust. pixiedust: It's always a good idea to book the room that you will be happy with, then you will not be disappointed if you are not upgraded. Many more people are not upgraded than are upgraded, but it is nice when it happens!
