Hi- to celebrate my daughters high school graduation just booked a 9 day trip in July staying at AKL Kidani. We have never been there so we are excited about the Savannah view and the whole experience. Both my girls are teens and still love Disney. Anybody have a must do while we are staying there?
THANKS:cool1:

Hi. We stayed at Jambo for a single night at the end of a week+ stay at VGF. Loved both resorts for different reasons. I wish we could have stayed longer at AKL and will try to go back without hesitation. I think a "must do" for any age is using the night vision goggles to look at the animals on the savannah. I believe it happens each night after sundown weather permitting (?) - but ask at the front desk when you check in. I am not sure if it is at Kidani, but I imagine it is. It isn't something that will fill an evening - but is certainly cool.

for must-dos, i'd just say boma (maybe jiko) and maybe the night vision goggles.

i enjoyed the wanyama/afternoon safari but it is expensive.

there are a number of activities available at the resort that are worth trying if you have the time. and the pools are both excellent.

AKL is really beautiful -- I enjoy just walking around the resort and looking at the animals and artwork.

We love AKL!!! It's a beautiful resort so definitely make sure you take time to explore. Be sure to get an activities schedule at check in. Night vision goggles are a definite must do!!

I love staying at Kidani, but I really love hanging out at Jambo House. I would make sure I took a little time to wonder around at Jambo. Lobby is amazing. I love a cocktail at Victoria Falls. I even wonder around and read all the notes under the artwork and small displays.

Also, do the bread service at lunch in Sanaa (kidani). We always get all of the dips. Delicious for lunch. You can order it at the bar if the restaurant is full.

I love some of the resort activities. There's the ceramics painting in community hall-make yourself a custom souvenir!

There's also a jewelry making class in community hall. There are 2 different restaurant tours-one of Sanaa, and one of Boma and Jiko (free tours with food samples!). And every evening at 6:30 at Kidani, in the lobby lounge, is the "cultural safari", a 1/2 hour talk by a CM on his sentry and culture.
