Hello everyone...I am a first timer at Universal Studio and have a trip planned to be in Florida June 8-15...so I want to visit Universal Studios for 1 day for the 4 of us (2 adults, 2 teens)

I have done Disney 3 times and this board provided me many useful tips and information for successful trips to Disney.

However, I am clueless about Universal Studios. I am unable to find out how many parks are here at Universal studios so I can figure out how to purchase tickets.

We are not Harry Potty fans at all (know nothing about HP so, just not interested)...
We also do not want to do any water park stuff.

This trips is for our teens...they like roller coasters!

So with that said...which Universal Studio park do we pick? (I ask for a specific park as I am assuming that for 1 day event, it would not be feasible money or timewise to pick a park jumper ticket...but please correct me if I am wrong).

Also, if there is an updated "first timer FAQ" that explains all of this, please send that link along as well.

Thanks again.

Doug

:welcome:to your new home!

we can walk you through your need with planning so you have basic knowledge in advance.

great idea damo has given you.
if you look at the site she listed, you can see the locations of everything in the park.
do a read of the ride/show descriptions to know more about.
if you shy away from roller coasters, you'll know which rides to avoid.

take note of the locations of restrooms, first aide, guest services, shows, etc
you can quickly find any of them if needed.

tickets can be purchased on the UO site in advance, or bought at any vendors such as Undercover Tourist, Maple leaf, AAA, etc
they all provide safe ways to buy tickets.

on the UO website it gives a breakdown on how park 2 park tickets are cheaper.

i'm not a parry hotter fan like most vacationers are.
but i always do the parry hotter sections and enjoy them.
you don't have to have read the books or seen the movies to enjoy this section of the park.

I think you can enjoy the harry potter lands without being a big potter fan. And if your teens like coasters, you definitely will want to visit harry potter then. i've only seen one of the hp movies and I like them. and the butterbeer is very good there too.
There are many thrill rides at the 2 universal parks so your teens may like them even better than disney. I think you can easily spend a day at both of the universal parks- we have many times.
