First Time

Between Pop Century and the parks, water parks, other resorts and Downtown Disney, your only transportation option is the bus (or a taxi). You could walk to Wide World of Sports if you were interested in seeing that.

Once you're at the parks, there are other options. Magic Kingdom and Epcot are connected by monorail via the Transportation and Ticket Center (you have to change trains there). Epcot and MGM are connected by Friendship Boats. It takes quite a while as they stop off at the Yacht & Beach Club, BoardWalk and Swan & Dolphin, but it's quite a nice thing to do and would give you an opportunity to see parts of WDW that you otherwise might not. It's also possible to walk between the two - it would take around 25-30 minutes. Animal Kingdom is out on a limb, so you're back to the bus. The same applies to Downtown Disney.

Is it fairly easy to go round by bus or whatever, i don't mind walking either, once didi it to london and thats over 30 miles away.

On Google Earth, the 4 parks are a distance of between 1 and 5 miles from Pop as the crow flies, if that helps :) MGM is closest, followed by Epcot, then AK then MK.

I don't plan things i just sorta follow my moods. But may have to for this holiday, not much into clothes shopping but will have to go and look ;). The parks are a must as i spent almost £300 on tickets :scared1:. Is it fairly easy to go round by bus or whatever, i don't mind walking either, once didi it to london and thats over 30 miles away.

Hi Mobius,
Its always worth trying to do an 'outline' plan of what you're going to do whilst at WDW, as there is so much to do!! Also, I think it would be wiser to use the internal bus system, purely to save time! If you've never been before, the enormity of the place will 'hit you'!! The US is so vast, its nothing like the UK or Europe!
The main thing is to enjoy it!!!

As you are staying onsite take advantage of extra-magic hours where you can get into the park early as you are staying on site.

If you buy anything in a Disney Park shop you can get it delivered free to your room (arrives next day) or, I , think, to the park exit.

Hello,

My first trip was great fun!

You feel at ease very quickly and get the hang of the disney buses etc within the first couple of days!

By the time our first holiday to WDW we felt like pros - so don't worry.

Take plenty of suncream as it will be so hot when you go.

When we went the first time the Thomas Cook rep gasped at me when she saw how pale I was (I am very pale) and told me firmly to wear at least factor 40!

I wore factor 30 all the holiday and that was fine for me, I got no tan but thats fine by me.

Do wear it as one morning both me and my DH went to BB without it on for 2 hours and got badly burnt! Never Again!

Have a good trip and please do let us know how you get on.
