First time with dcl lots of questions

we are a family of five. Looking to try dcl with a four night cruise before spending money on an Alaskan with them. Questions.

How are they with peanut allergies? As good as Disney World?

Should we book a family verandah or spend five hundred more and book two connecting aft, extended verandah cabins? Extra space would be nice.

If those aft cabins aren't good, can someone recommend a good set up for five? No inside or ocean view though. We want a versndah.

Are the kids clubs chaotic?

Edited to add: is it best to take ME to our dvc the night prior to the cruise, transfer to ship with DCL bus and then pick up s car rental post cruise to get back to wdw for our nine night stay? Or just rent a car for whole trip and leave it in the car park at the port? Car rental seems easiest but it might be pricey.

I can't comment on peanut allergies, but my first cruise we listed my allergies (only 1 of which approaches anaphylactic) and I never have since because they were being so very careful. I can easily avoid things I'm allergic to so I have been leaving their attentions to people that need it. However, that was 2010 so not recent information.

Sorry, I can't comment on the room size much but you don't mention the kids' ages. That would make a difference I'd think.

The kids clubs change depending on the date of the cruise. They're not so busy during the school year. When were you thinking of going?

FYI, my son loves the clubs enough that he really wanted to go one last time before he turns 18. He started with Oceaneer's club.

Thanks for your reply. My kids are 6, 6 and 11. Her allergies are anaphylactic so it's good to hear they are careful. We are going mid January 2017, so school will be in session. I have to deposit tomorrow. Still not sure about the two cabins.

I am an adult with anaphylaxis allergies to milk, seafood (all fish, shellfish, etc), peanuts and tree nuts.

One of the reasons we cruise with Disney is the same reason we vacation at WDW -- they handle food allergies so well.

Only thing I can comment on is highly recommend 2 connecting cabins. Our cruise 2 weeks ago on the Wonder was the first time we only had 1 cabin (4A) for the 4 of us and it was tight, I much prefer the 2 insides we normally book. Just my $.02

If you are booking the Dream....It would depend on where the aft cabins are located. I love Aft with the large Verandah's but I will not stay on deck 10 again. Way too much early morning noise coming from Cabana's and soot every morning on our verandah. They did clean it off daily but in the mornings it kept me from enjoying the verandah. If the cabins are on any deck besides 10 then I would definitely book the 2 connecting aft for $500 more. You may get some soot still but not as much as deck 10.

Thanks. We are booked in 7192 and 7194. I've done lots of research tonight and I'm going to put down my deposit tomorrow. I plan on one night at a dvc before the cruise, then the four day cruise and then back to wdw for nine nights. Now I have to figure out transfers/car rental.
