We are headed back to Disney June 2018. Our DD is having our 1st grandchild (princess) the end of June. She didn't get to go the last time we went, so she really wants to go this time. We have never taken a baby, the youngest we have taken is when DS was five.

Please give me any & all advice. Thinking about staying @ CBR or POR. There will be 4 adults & our DS (16). So we will have plenty of help for the baby. I am going to request connecting rooms.

What's the best way to make the most out of child swap & FP?

Do you think we "first time parents & grandparents" can do this LOL?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

She'll be a year old. She'll do great!

If she is weaned by your trip (breast or bottle), that will, IMO, make life easier. Lots of water and snacks makes the world a little bit better when you're one. There are tons of cute rides a one year old can ride. Definitely get or bring a stroller so little miss princess can take a nap.

You'll have a BLAST! One is fun! Every food-eating kid loves Mickey Waffles! princess:

It will be easy! That is a lot of adults! Our first with-kids trip had a wild three year old and a two month old - and two adults. We have gone with an 11 month old as well. (The other kids were 3 and 6 and still just two adults).

I highly recommend her parent use a carrier of some sort. I used a sling. My babies loved hanging out in it and it makes lines a lot easier since you can't bring strollers into lines. (Still bring the stroller though). Not being weaned made it easier for me and my babies. It is so easy to nurse there and I didn't have to carry as much. At that age, they can taste off the parents plate too, though I'd bring baby's favorite snacks.

Easy-peasy! :) That's a great age to enjoy Disney and there will be plenty of adults. Keep in mind that even if you request adjoining rooms, you won't necessarily get them. We did on our recent trip to CBR but I've heard plenty of other people who didn't get them! We loved CBR, by the way.

Plan to take advantage of rider swap, but also be sure to hit all the rides that the baby will love... like Dumbo, the Carousel, Magic Carpets, etc.

You can definitely do this! :) We went in November with our 5 year old and (then) 7 month old. As someone else mentioned, bring a carrier (Baby Bjorn, Tula) in addition to the stroller because it will help when standing in line, when you have to fold the stroller up for trams, etc. Take plenty of diapers/wipes, snacks, water, baby food and milk to the parks with you. I'd recommend a change of clothes too. I was surprised by how many rides our infant COULD go on. She'll be able to go on a lot and will love them! For the others, yes, definitely take advantage of child swap. With Fast Pass, we found that only one of us had to have a FP for the attraction and we were given the child swap card and then the other could go back through the FP line to ride. Our LO was only 7 months old and the resort still sent him a Magic Band for him which was cute.

Make sure you get her Mickey ears with her name engraved on them for those incredible "meeting Mickey for the first time" photos! :earsgirl: Oh and check out disneystore.com for the "first visit" shirts :earboy2:

I'm going with my six month old in three weeks. These are wonderful tips! Thank you! I just want to clarify, you only need one fast pass to do child swap? For example, I can have a fast pass for Tower of Terror, and my husband can have a fast pass for rock 'n' roll a coaster, and we can both enter through the fast pass lane one at a time? So in essence, we could get more than three fast passes?

YES! That is one of the BEST things about rider swap!

Yes it was awesome! And actually, we were with our 5 year old. We would make sure one of us, plus her would have a FP for the ride, then with rider swap, she would get to go on AGAIN with the swapping parent. I believe the rider swap lets you take up to 3 additional people in your party? (or 3 people total). So she fared out the best thanks to her baby brother. :earboy2:

Yep, that's what we did last spring - I think our 4yo rode Star Tours 4 times or something - once with her own FP, again with rider swap, and a couple of times via standby because the line was short. DH was getting dizzy because he ended up riding 3x in a row, LOL.
