First time waitlist questions

I just tried to book at my 7 month mark for Sept 29- Oct 2 at BLT, and was told that it is fully booked. I was trying to book either a MK view or Lake view. They did put me on the wait list and booked us Savanah view at AKL. We have had DVC for 2 years and still learning, does anyone know if my chances are good of getting picked from the waitlist for a room at BLT.

I am thankful of the savanah view room at AKL, but we just came back from AKL in July....

No idea on the chances but did they put you on the wait list for both views? You can have two waitlists. If you where just at AKV did you have them try other resorts?

I already had Sunday-Friday booked in a studio at BLT in a lake view room for the end of June. We realized last week we would be able to stay until Saturday so I called MS on Friday late afternoon. There was no availability (I wasn't suprised really) but I asked to be on the waitlist (I did have to ask as MS did not offer). 2 days later on Sunday I got the email that my waitlist had come through!!

What size room? 1 BRs tend to be easier to get than studios or 2 BRs.

With your waitlist being right around the 7 month mark you might have a decent shot. I have had success with waitlists at various resorts when I book at 6-7 months out

You are so right..... I was on the WL for one night at BWV standard studio for October and yesterday it came through for me. Be patient and I think you'll be all right.

Thank you everyone. I have requested a studio, so we will see what happeneds. I have to be lucky to be able to get a DVC room. If we did not join DVC we would have stayed at POP, I am greatful....

we have been waitlisted twice for BLT and didnt have any luck either time.
( it was busy both times... Dec 11, and this year for Presidents day.)

Just make sure if you end up at AKV, go with Kidani... it is soo much nicer there... we had a "Savannah" room in Dec.... what a waste!! the room is now a standard view. (we were in Rafiki, and the SV across the hall was awesome!!) the giraffes feed at that end!

I agree with the others. I had a res for june at a studio at AKL Jambo but was waitlisted for the 1st night since only Kidanni was available. The wait list came through in about a week. Good luck, I think you will be okay.

I just got an email this afternoon advising me that my reservation came through for the lake view at BLT. !!!! YEH!!! I am still on the wait list for the Park view, but at least I am in the building. If we cannot have a park view atleast we can go the deck and watch the fireworks...I was so excited this afternoon at work when I checked my email. I gave everyone a laugh....Thanks for everyones feedback...
