Hi all,

I will be heading to disneyworld at during the peak season as this is the only time i can get off and i recently decided with my gf to come here :) we are arriving dec 27 until jan 2. we have made reservations at a couple of hotels (avoiding priceline...for now). we have a $99/night reservation at comfort suites maingate at kissimmee and courtyard in the marriott village for $127/night.

my question / concern is whether the transportation from the hotel to the parks will be a problem. the shuttle from comfort suites leave at 745am to epcot and it takes 45 mins (!) to get there. i can then take monorail to the various parks (or so i am told). The Courtyard has shuttle available for $7 roundtrip but various drop-off time period rather than one per day.

Are there any better hotels for the price that we should be looking at for that time? Please help!

Thanks princess:

That's a very busy and expensive time of year, so I don't know if you could do much better. I would go with the hotel that offers multiple pick-up times. You could also see if you could get something less (and very close) on Priceline and just use taxis, or at least use them much of the time.

Thanks Kay1! We were planning to take the taxi in the morning already. The cheaper hotel is only 2 miles away and each ride will cost ~$25 or so to get the park (crazy...) but the $ we will save from hotel will be worth it i guess? Main concern is whether the area is really run down and "safe"

Both areas are good, not run-down. The monorail goes between Epcot and Magic Kingdom. You have to take a bus to the other parks and I don't think you can go from park to park by bus. You have to go from Epcot to a resort hotel and then transfer to a bus that goes to Disney Hollywood Studios and/or Animal Kingdom.
I think I would either rent a car (if that's an option) or stay at the one with various drop off times.

You might want to look into Royale Parc Suites also. They have a holiday special going on now. We stayed there 2 weeks ago and found the suites to be very nice, clean and spacious. They offer a free hot breakfast buffet and a free one hour managers reception each evening and free shuttles to the parks. We didn't use the shuttles (didn't go to the parks) so I can't comment on them. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely stay again.

We stayed at Comfort Suites Maingate for one night in November before moving onsite. The hotel was clean but very dark. There is a Comfort Suites at Downtown Disney that is much closer and from what I heard a little nicer. You may want to search Comfort Suites website.

Ramada Gateway hotel is a nice place to stay. Accommodation prices are quite nominal looking at the amenities they provide. It is close to Disney and there are number of dining areas nearby.

You can find number of car rental companies in North Cyprus and it is really tough to select a genuine one. The one that I usually approach for car hire in Europe is Pointcarhire. They offer nice deals with lots of facilities at quite nominal prices.

Actually, you can go park to park by bus. The only time that you would have to go to a resort to catch a bus is if you are going from a park to Downtown Disney or from Downtown Disney to a park.

Probably will do the opposite as people stay at the counter longer trying to get a different room becuase their requests were ignored by the computer.

Thanks everyone for the helpful response :) i think we will stick to taking a cab in the morning for now so we can get there early. Its not ideal but i havent been able to find a good rental car rate. But really thanks everyone for the help! We are planning to go to MK two of the days we are staying there so hopefully we wont need to spend too much on cab rides. :grouphug:
