Hi,

My fiance and myself are visiting Orlando for the 1st time in September.

However we are splitting our holiday by having one week there and one in Miami.

We have a rough idea of what we would like to do while we are in Orlando, however we would like to spend about 2 days at Disney... this is where we are stuck!

We are both in our twenties... im a bit of a big kid at heart so I have to go!!!

We have decided to get a hopper ticket incase we get bored or dont like one of the lands we go to. What I really want to know is how busy is it going to be in September (middle of sept) and is there any recommendtations of where we should spend the 2 (maybe 3 if i get my way!) We will def buy a 3 days ticket.... where is best that we get the tickets from? Especially as we only want a 3 day ticket, most we find are for longer.

Anyway sorry for the long post!! Any other tips are greatly appreciated!:thumbsup2

Can't answer all your questions but I'm sure somebody will be along to offer words of wisdom.

Just wanted to to say hello and welcome!

:welcome:

Oooh, this is a tough one, 2 maybe 3 days at WDW, nowhere near enough for me! I would most deffinatly spend a day at the Magic Kingdom and a Day at Epcot. I can garentee youwont get board and after 2 days (one at each park) you will most certainly want to do the other 2 parks (Hollywood studios and Animal Kingdom), this is where your problems start if you have 3 days - which one to choose? I would seriously talk DBF into a 5 day pass and do a day at each park and then go back to your favorite on the 5th day.

We are there september too and plan on spending all 14 days at disney.

Have a magical trip:thumbsup2

Hello , just want to say nerver to young or to old for Disney :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Sorry forgot to say

:cheer2: :welcome: :welcome: :cheer2:

You will have a magical time on the Dis, everyone is so friendly :)

Agree with Belle68. Three days would never be enough for me! Like she said you need a day each for all four parks and then an extra day to go back to the one you liked best. I'm going again in Aug and plan to spend at least 10 days out of 14 at Disney. This is my third visit and will still have not seen it all or got board yet and I dont imagine i ever will! Enjoy your planning :)

Welcome

I would guess mid Sept is a great time to visit, low crowds and still very good weather. Once DS leaves school I am sure thats the month we will go.

So difficult what to advise with so little time there. There are 4 Disney parks which is 4 days minimum IMHO. A full day in each is needed unless you want to miss a lot.

If you do buy a 3 day pass then buy at the gate, there are no saving anywhere worth buying elsewhere. See here competative company and compares with gate price http://www.mapleleaftickets.com/disney_tickets.htm
3 days non hopper $216, it will only cost an extra £6.50 to buy a 5 day ticket.
No idea how you will fit in a 1st visit in 7 days. We have spent 50 weeks there and still not had enough.

Good luck planning

Hi,

Thank you everyone for your comments!! I know its not a lot of time, but i intened to make the most of it!!!

We will most likely spend 3 days there and we will have to sacrifice one park, which we are kinda ok with as we havent much choice, but to go all that way and not go at all would just be silly!!!

So would it be better to not get a hopper ticket then? I have also heard during Sept and Oct there is halloween evenings where the park is open later is this right? And do you have to get a seperate ticket for it?

Also are places like seaworld worth going to? Neither of us a big water park people so we are fine with missing them out. If we had loads of time there then we would do it all, but we gotta give somewhere!!!!

Thanks again and sorry for all the questions! x

If you were thinking about adding hopping to your tickets it would increase price to $264 each (extra $48) or converts to £135. For an extra few £ you might be better getting a 5 day UK ticket http://www.attraction-tickets-direc...ices/5-day-magic-your-way-premium-tickets.htm lets you into everything Disney for EG Pleasure Island might be of interest to you which is included. This site cherges £155 but might be cheaper elsewhere.

Yes the parties are a seperate ticket. If you are interested in them then I would expect low crowds in Sept and walk on rides but its about another £25each. If not interested then avoid them days as you have to come out before 7pm with a day tiicket.
Personally we like SW, Uni, I of A, Busch Gardens all as much if not more than Disney, we have Annual passes for them all. Couldn't go without visiting them all.
I see no reason to visit Miami with so much in orlando but I am a theme park addict.:cool1:

Well I am starting to think that about Miami now.... but not a lot we can do about that now!

Originally we did it as we wanted to split up the holiday a bit and see somewhere else as we may not be able to travel as far as this again... and it was a bit of an impulse thing... but hey ho, i am sure we will still manage to make the most of the time we have there!

If we get a ticket with a more days on it then if Miami feels that boring to us we can always take a day trip back up to Disney :) ... !

I think you are going to be quite amazed at how much to see and do there is in Orlando and the parks are huge. The standards are way, way higher than what we have here. I don't think there are any in the UK on the scale that these are.

Personally I think it is a crying shame not to do all the Disney parks, SW, IoA and US on your first visit and I honestly feel a bit sad for you that you are not going to be able to experience them all.

However, as you said, at least you are visiting the parks. Personally we prefer Universal and Islands the best but could not perceive visiting Orlando without at least one visit to each park.

You don't say what else you are doing in Orlando. Personally if you are only going to visit for 3 days I would buy a guide book and look through what each park has to offer which appeals to you both. Everybody likes different things.

I think many of us here would find it extremely difficult to pick 3 parks to visit out of the 7 as each and every one of them has something unique and different about it. I can also assure you, you will not be bored at all.:)

Miami is about 500 miles away, I believe, so really too far away to do a day trip to Disney. Florida is about the size of the UK, I believe.

In hindsight, it may have been better for you to stay in the Orlando area, do all the parks, then have a couple of days by the beach, eg at Clearwater then return to do your favourite parks again. No matter, you will still have a lovely time.

We are both in our twenties... im a bit of a big kid at heart so I have to go!!!

With the timescale you've got I'd at least recommend visiting Magic Kingdom, Disney Studios and Epcot, for me, Animal Kingdom is a half a day park at best, and on your limited timescale, would be the easiest one to 'lose'. I would also recommend visiting Seaworld and Universal as well, Disney is a totally different experience, and it would be good to see the alternatives.

We go in September, and by getting to the parks at opening time, you can rack up a lot of the major rides by the time the crowds start arriving, so you have a good chance of doing all the rides you want. Bear in mind that you could hop to a much busier park than the one you have just left, so do your homework as regards busiest days for the park you are intending on visiting.

As has been mentioned already, if you have a read through a guide book, or research the attractions in the parks, you'll have a better idea of which parks would appeal to you. :thumbsup2

You'll need a week sprawled on the Miami beach to get over your hectic Orlando week! :faint:

That was kind of the idea!! Plus I will need at least a week on a beach before going back to work....!!!!!

We are spending a week in Orlando and we already intend to do Universal and IoA, hopefully Seaworld... maybe half day shopping mid-week to give us a break, but as we are going to Miami we will probably save the shopping for there!

It was just Disney where we were getting stuck! I think so far Animal Kingdom does seem the likely one that we will miss out on!

How about 1 day at MK, 1 day EPCOT and then morning at Ak followed by afternoon and evening at hollywood studios. The evening firework displays and fantasmic are must. You can cover alot on a good morning at AK, and it would be a shame to miss 1 park.

Now that sounds like a plan!

What time are they usually open till then? And are the fireworks something extra you have to pay for like the halloween evenings?

If you go on the disney world web site, and click calender. you can check out the park hours and events. On a normal evenings, the fireworks are included on your park ticket, so there is no extra charge. There are no fire works at AK and the park is normally first one to close on an evening.
Extra magic hours are only open to disney resort guests. You do pay extra if it is an extra event ie halloween etc. With the calender you can see which park is open latest so you can plan your visits accordingly. YOU dont want to get to a park and find its early closing, so it pays to check the dates.

Forgot to say, the fireworks at MK and Epcot are amazing. My favorites are the ones at Epcot but MK's wishes take some beating. Fireworks happen almost every night unless the weather interveans which is rare.

Fireworks are included in your park pass, each park has a different firework show ( except Animal Kingdom - for obvious reasons), Magic Kingdom has Wishes, Epcot has Illuminations reflections of earth and Hollywood studios(MGM) has Fantasmic. They are on everyday so you should be able to see them all. :)

Hi and Welcome to the DIS

If you wanted to do one of the Halloween Party's they will need an extra ticket.

Hi,:cool1:
Sorry to disagree with most people but for me Epcot would be the one I'd miss out on if I was short on time like you are!
MK is just what it says "Magical" but AK & HS are great too and for first timers like yourselves, you need time to appreciate them & do all the rides...don't miss Tower of Terror,Rock'n'roller Coaster, Everest or Kilimanjaro Safari.
We also love Uni & SW which at a push you can do in 3 days!
We haven't managed to get to Miami yet but it's definitely a must for us, hopefully next year! Wouldn't like to miss up on a chance of seeing Horatio from CSI Miami!
Whatever you decide to do you will have a fantastic time and will be going back for more....so envious!! :dance3:
