Not sure where to post this so I thought I would start here.

1. It will be our first family trip (only I have been before) how do I let Disney know this? We are staying at POP. (I have seen something about first time pins at check in and would like at least my kids to get them)

2. I made my ADR's - is it okay for me to put first time visit on all of them or does proper etiquette mean I should do only 1? (I have read that some places do something for celebrations and some don't depending on various factors that day and I would like my children to get at least one special celebration.)

TIA! (going back to bed now that my ADR's are made)

I'm not much help on the resort side since I never stay there but you can get the first visit pins at City Hall at the MK.

You can ask at check-in at your resort.

If not, they're available at Guest Services in each of the parks.

As to the special celebration: I'm guessing that all you'll get is a mention: "SO, I hear this is your first trip?" If you want to set something else up-- like a cake-- you'll probably have to order it.

But to be honest, there's SO MUCH THERE that it really isn't necessary. Last year I forgot all about getting the pins, and my kids never noticed the difference.

One thing I did do that brought a little extra notice: I brought along Princess dresses for my girls to wear to dinner with Cinderella & the Stepfamily at 1900 Park Fare. My younger daughter wore hers all night (It was "too hot and itchy" for her sister to wear to the MK) and both loved the attention from the characters and CMs.

Agreed with all. Get the first pins as you first walk in under the railroad at the MK , the town hall building is on the left. You'll need to go up in line to one of the counters and ask the CM at the customer service window.

There are alot of people walking around with first time pins. Never noticed anything special to happen. Honestly my kids got more attention from our Boston Red Sox hats. (Many CM's everywhere were Yankee fans!).

It is cool to get them, however, as a souvenier for the kids. Plus, if your kids decide midway through that they want to collect and trade pins, it's another one (albeit different) for the Lanyard.

I got the 1st time pins when I chcked in at Pop. Just tell them when you check in it is your 1st visit. :)
