I wanted to post my thoughts on my first time visit to not only BCV, but also the first use of our DVC ownership.

To start off, no real complaints. So, those looking for hard dirt, you can chose another thread.:D

Our trip started terrible. Continental moved our flight time UP one hour and forty minutes (Newark to Daytona). We were never advised (no we didn't confirm, but we will in the future). We never made the plane. But get this, our bags did. So we thought. We caught a plane to Orlando and drove to Daytona to see the MIL. We were told our bags were in Daytona airport. But when we got there, no bags. At 11:00pm Newark finally admitted to having the bags. At this time we purchased clothing in case they never found our bags. We wound up getting the bags at 3:30pm the next day.

OK, now the fun stuff. I am an accountant so I am going to address this in bullet form:

Front Desk very nice and got a "welcome home". I don't recall many other "welcome homes" but, anytime we told people that this was our first trip the were extremely gracious.

Bell Stand was extremely sympathetic to our bag plight. Some (Rueben) remembered our names.

Room number 225. Fabulous view of the quiet garden. Unfortunately could not see over the trees, but, the sounds of UK, Canada and of course the night show was perfect. We really enjoyed having some kitchen facilities in the room. It made it feel less like a hotel room.

Room part B For those who know the rooms will automatically identify that 225 is a handicap room. We were so worn out from our flight and bag situation (plus we had a tee time) we didn't want to request a switch. It was just DW and me, so I figured to leave the more requested accomodations to others. In the future I will request a switch. The main problem was the lack of a bathroom vanity to put the essentials, and some other bits and pieces.

Room part C While I could feel the warmer room upon entry; the room tended to cool down quickly. Also, the water pressure and temperature was fine.

Grounds The facility is super. They could use a little touch up here and there (i.e. the elevator light for the second floor was out, scraps of garbage here or there, some child colored the railing of the Cape May rest.). I liked the layout though. I like how the bus stops are pushed a little away from the porte coche, unlike OKW. Richyams, I am not trying to be mean. I like the location of the store. No, we did not see any garbage bags in the hallway. DW was a little nervous about that, since she has read a lot of compliants on these threads.

EPCOT and MGM Proximity is great. We beat all the boats back from MGM after Fantasmic. BC had a sign asking you to use the lobby to get to EPCOT rather than utilize the side path. I used the path. I purchased BCV's for the proximity.

SAB Only one problem. They won't bring you drinks to your tube as you float around the lazy river. What a great place to take a nap in. Also we watched them do lifeguard training. Nice little show. Although, I don't think they meant it to be a show for me.

Quite Pool We met a lot of nice first time or first year DVCers. We all shared a lot of good thoughts. DW ribbed me for willingly asking people, "how many points" and "how's your pressure and temperature (water that is)".

Alli Yep. We saw it. That really thrilled DW who loves AK and looking at animals.

I think that is it for now. I will be happy to answer any questions.

I close on two parting comments:

1) DW is feeling better that we purchased DVC. She was very resistent
2) Other DIS posters were nice enough to provide me with breakeven schedules. Now that we used a studio at a rack rate of $319 a night for 4 nights. Our annual fees have been covered and we are eating into our investment. Our trip to HH in August will make a nice dent.

Thank you if you made it this far.

Are you sure that was a child w/ the crayons?

Glad you had a good first visit home-overall.

I will have to try SAB without kids. It is hardly a "lazy" river when you arre keeping an eye on 3 little ones.

We were there 5/6 through 5/13 and noticed the same things you mentioned above.

I'm surprised that the crayon was on the railing for so long (my entire week's stay).
