First time US/ HRH 7/10-7/15 Loved It !

Thanks for reading
It rained nearly everyday we were there but the typical florida rain, it pours for like a 30 -40 min and then its hot and sunny again so it never messed us up, and we were lucky with the timing. Be advised they do close the pool for a while before and after it rains, which is good for safety reasons.
The SW shuttle I believe left at 9:25am. It was fine it just takes longer, you wait a little before, they stop at the other hotels, I think they stopped at wet and wild too, then you wait coming back which was at like 7:15pm ( and another one at 9 something). I usually like to drive places. So like I said I was torn but it was fine.
I know I am forgeting details here and there, and probably can do a better job with this TR but I just want to make sure I at least get it done cause I really appreciated and enjoyed everyones else TR's and posts.
:thumbsup2

IMO, they should have a TM checking EP's at the entrance to the attraction and just before you board your attraction....kind of like Mummy & MIB...but i think they do that because there are so many places to "line jump" thru the queue.... oh well...if you have it and use it honestly, then you have absolutely NO chance of "getting caught" and bumped outta the ride. I think JMCDAD is surprised at how relaxing his trip was....just based on the comment about eating at CW for the first time...he thought they'd eat there everynite....shows you how relaxed you can get and just end up "going w/ the flow".... ;)

very true BubbaM we did go with the flow for the most part :cool2:

One more thing about the shuttle to SW , the driver was really nice and quite informative. He gives out some discount cards when you get there for various restaurants at citywalk. Which reminds me, I got the MC discount book which really wasn't that great, it had some coupons that we could have used but of course forget to use it for the whole trip. We are bad with coupons.
I am apparently bad with mister fans also cause I bought 2 for the trip , one I broke when I dropped it in my kitchen before we left (no I wasn't palying with it, maybe just a little :hippie: ) but I still took the fan part with us.
So 1 and 1/2 mister fans taken on vacation, 0 used.
They were sitting next to the coupon book. :rotfl:
Also wanted to let you guys know, one of the things the informative shuttle driver told us was that they were relocating wet/wild onto Universal property, not sure of the timing though. I did not know this so thought it was pretty cool :yay:

:woohoo: this has been rumored, but no time frame "rumored" yet (waiting for a lease to be up?? land? :confused3 ....now, if they just offer FOTL for onsite guests at UO at WnW :scratchin

He said something like, by 2009 , but don't quote me on it
He said they were building condos on the current site

HP world
the new Simpsons ride
wet/wild on site

oh yeah............party: We'll be back

Sun 7/15

So the bad news is this was our last day at US/HRH, the good news was it was my DD10 Birthday. So we got up, gave her a few little goodies that we bought for her (Betty Boop stuff) and grabbed a quick breakfast at the snack place, we even scored one of the 2 or 3 tables they had :cool1:
We were hanging by the pool again today, it was just so hot that it was a good call. The 2 HRH staff guys were at the pool playing games with the kids, they were really nice and the kids had alot of fun.
They asked movie and music trivia we all played.
We swam and went up and down the slide 10 or 50 times :goodvibes
We listened to the underwater music (at least I did)
We played a little volleyball (very little)
We had fun.
The DJ came on in the afternoon, he was really good.
He had a hoola hoop competition.
My DD10 is very good at this so she entered, she did well but got eliminated about half way thru when they had to jump, I later found out from DW that she had to go number 1. So I think she kinda quit :)
They had an above 21 male hoola hoop competition.
I won
No I didn't, I didn't even enter. Just checking to see if you were paying attention:rolleyes1
Then the obligatory rain came, but again good timing cause we were going to go take showers and change and head to the parks soon anyway.
We walked over to IOA mainly to do Spiderman again, we walked on twice.
Did a couple other things and walked around a bit and then headed to Margaritaville for Dinner.
There was like a 40 minute wait but here I think our hotel keys worked smashingly. I flashed them to the girl taking names and she says it would still be about 35min, I said fine , about 10-15 minutes later we were seated.
Margaritaville was alot of fun, they have music playing, people on stilts making balloon hats, volcanoes going off, singing, a all around fun place to have a birthday dinner.
The only thing I was a little dissapoointed with was that they didn't make a big deal about DD10 birthday, I told the girl out front, then I reminded the server, all they did was not charge us for DD10 dessert, which was nice , but I would have rather paid for the dessert if they would have sang to her or something , but no biggy.
We walked around, did some end of vacation shopping and thats all folks.
Tomorrow we were checking out and heading back to good old NY.

We all had a great time it was one of our best family vacations, thanks to all of you for your help and advice.
Hopefully, God willing, we will be able to come back and check out HP in a couple years.

:thumbsup2 ;) :)

Wow you had me at the hula-hoop contest, I thought you really won! LOL I am so gullible.

I'm glad your DD had a nice birthday at Univeral, sounds like a great birthday dinner too. Was Spiderman your favourite ride? what did you think of the Mummy?

I really enjoyed your trip report, it was a great read :)

So glad you shared your experience with us! Our first time there since they opened (last summer) was one of our best trips too....that's why we bought the APs!

Something tells me you'll be back.....:rolleyes1

As far as rides go
Yes I think Spiderman was my and the family's favorite ride, its amazing just like Spiderman himself. :)
With Mummy a close second.
Like I mentioned we didn't do DD or Hulk as the kiddies don't like the big coasters. I am not crazy about heights so no big deal, although I would go on if they really wanted to.
MIB is great , we went on like 4 times
The monster make up show was really really funny
T2 is the best 3D movie I ever seen
Shrek is cute and really good
Posideon is really good
Beetlejuice was just ok for us
Dudley and Popeye were both really good
JPRA was really good
Jimmy Newtron was cute ( I like the ending  )
Earthquake was ok, we liked twister a little better
The second time on ET and Jaws we enjoyed more than the first, not sure why though
I am probably forgeting some but thats my take

Loved your trip report! It makes me want to try HRH on our next trip. I am a chicken and have not done Spiderman yet - will try to get up my courage to do it next time. What part of NY are you in? (I love New York- went to college there and still miss it.)

Thanks dsmom really appreciate it :thumbsup2

Please do spiderman next time, it is not scary at all, and is really one of the best if not the best all around ride.
Now Mummy is a little scary but great

I grew up in Brooklyn, now I live in Staten Island, but I work in Jersey (that would explain why I am all mixed up most of the time :) )

:upsidedow

You are so lucky!! I had classes in NYC, Pleasantville and White Plains and lived in White Plains. I think New York City is the greatest place in the world!

Yeah NYC is pretty awesome , I went to college in the city , but its one of those things, that we live so close but we don't go as much as we should.
