I will be in Orlando the first week of December with a 3-year old. We will be staying off site (Silver Lake Resort - supposedly very close to Disney). Our itiniary includes a couple of days of non-park activities such as downtown disney, Boardwalk, meals at Chef Mickey, and exploring DWD resorts (AKL, Fort Wilderness. etc.). How do we get driving directions for:

1. Silver Lake to DD. Is parking available there?
2. Silver Lake to Boardwalk. Is parking available there?
3. Silver Lake to Chef Mickey at the Contemporary. How long will I be allowed to park my car there? Can I visit WDW resorts after meal?
4. How do I go about exploring WDW resorts? I read some posts that mentioned monorail and buses. Where do I find these?

Thank you!!!

I'm not quite sure where Silver Lake is... However, getting around Walt Disney World is quite easy, as long as you READ THE SIGNS...

1.) Downtown Disney is very well marked... just follow the signs. Parking is plentiful, and free.

2.) The Disney Boardwalk is located in the Epcot Resorts Area... just follow the signs for that. Parking is available with a 3hr parking pass.

3.) Follow the signs for the Magic Kingdom for the Contemporary. Very easy to find. Once at the MK Toll Plaza, bear right, and just continue straight ahead. Parking is available with a 3hr parking pass.

4.) You're more than welcome to visit the resorts. If you wish to park, you will be given a three hour parking pass.

Although that is a handy map, one thing to be aware of is that it is 4 or so years old... and as such, there are missing roads, changes in exit numbers, and other various changes that have taken place.
