First time to Universal; is this too much?

We have a week booked at WDW in April and have been there many times. DD17 and I want to do two days at US/IOA and we're intending to purchase the 2 day with Mears transportation tickets through DU. I'd also like to see the Blue Man Group, so we thought we'd do that one of those days as well. Is that too much? We're used to doing rope drops and closing down the parks at WDW, but we typically take a resort break during the day. We are sort of the "commando" type WDWers.

Has anyone else done the Dreams Unlimited 2 day Universal option? It is the 2 day, both parks ticket, right? I'd be interested in hearing how everything went with the pick ups, timing, etc.

Thanks for your help!

if you read the transportation forum, you will read some threads about the ease of using DU for the transporting from one resort to the UO parks.

search this forum for past threads regarding the d.u. transportation from the motherland hotel to universal.
there are quite a few of them.
(extend the search period at the bottom left hand side to do so.)

looks like you will be going during spring break.
beware of the crowds in the park, especially at parry hotter.

check the show times for BMG in advance.
you can buy their tickets online.

i have done a day in the park and then hit BMG.
it made a wonderful and very full day.

you can set the time for your DU pick up or call them 2 hours prior, while at universal, to set up your return pick up time.

Thanks Proud Redhead! I will do the searches as you suggest. I use the Transportation board all the time, but I've never looked for the Universal stuff.

I'm glad to hear that you've done BMG after a day at a Universal park. It's encouraging to hear that, while a long day, it was wonderful.

This is so much fun planning for a place I've never been! It's almost like I know WDW too well to have to plan anything. So, this gives me a definite planning fix.

We did the Dreams 1 day with transporation earlier this year, and it was very easy.

You'll get an email with your Mears transportation vouchers. Print it and take it with you to the shuttle.

We chose to print our park tickets out of the kiosk in front of the parks. Pop in the credit car that you purchased them with, and viola! out come your tickets.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat. :thumbsup2

Thanks! This is helpful. Sounds like it works like it is supposed to work. Were your transportation logistics pretty good? On another thread, there are a few people complaining that the shuttle return to their Disney hotel was hours late and it didn't go well. Sounds like yours went fine. Any hints?

you can call for your return transportation the day you are at universal.

they say to call 2 hours in advance for your pick up but i have read some have called in less time and still did not have a problem.

in october during the HHN event, the last DU shuttle was at 2:15 in the morning.

I'm sure you won't have any issues getting a later shuttle back to the motherland after seeing the BMG.

check the BMG website for any specials or discount tickets.

later today i will try to pull up some of the older threads from last 2 months regarding those that have used the DU, mears shuttle.
