I need some help We are planning to go to dl on may 9-13. I just read that there is going to a 50 year celebration opening that week so I may be rethinking. Does anyone think it will be very crowded it is during the week i am hoping schools are still in session. When does California schools get out? Staying on property is not that important to us just want a good place to stay. We were thinking the Sheraton. Has anyone stayed there? Sorry for all the questions but if we do decide to go this week i would like to reserve something now as people are saying they cannt get rooms for some of the days? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm going through Dreams Unlimited for my WDW trip. I know they also do DL. they are great @ getting discounts so that you don't have to watch every day.

I think the May kick off for the 50th will be big. I bet it will be even more crowded when school lets out. I think you will have a blast. I say go for it !!! :tongue: :tongue: :tongue:

I would make your arrangements now. With the birthday celebration it is going to be very crowded.

Traditional year schools will still be in session, but for year-round districts (Anaheim is one of those) a third of the students will be off at any given time. While May traditionally is a good time to go for low crowds, I think this May might be more crowded than normal. Not only will it be the kickoff of the anniversary, but Buzz will have just opened but it's possible Space Mountain will have re-opened.

I'll eat my leather Indy hat if SM is open in May 2005... That would be a miracle beyond all Disney miracles!

As for may...I'd just wait a couple weeks after the 50th...if you're gonna be here for more than a day or two, even if the crowds are large, you'll be able to see everthing no problem and you'll have a great time!

I'm bummed that my March trip won't include a ride on the DL Space Mountain, but maybe then I'll have an excuse for another trip someday.;)

I'm always scheming...::yes::

We were there last May when they simply announced the 50th Anniversary plans and it was very crowded. It was also the opening of Tower of Terror. We were disappointed because according to Birnbaums this was supposed to be a low crowd time. We went back a month later in the middle of June and it was much less crowded. I would expect big crowds for sure this year.
