Just found out that I may be able to tag along on my fiance's business trip to California. We have never been to Disneyland before.

We will be staying at the Courtyard by Marriot right near the John Wayne Airport. This hotel does not have a shuttle to the Disneyland Resort area, and a taxi would cost $35. My fiance will be using the rental car for work.

I came up with an idea, but I am not sure if it will work. Since we are only a mile from the airport, I figured he could drop me off at the airport on his way to work. Then, I could take one of the airport shuttles to one of the Disneyland hotels and walk to the parks. I did a little research, and it looks like a one-way ride from the airport is around $11. Would this plan work, and if so, which shuttle service would you recommend. Thanks in advance.

Most of the Shuttles charge $14 pp + tip for 1 way from SNA (John Wayne, Orange County) If you had to do this more than a few times, it might be worth it to rent your own car. The shuttles are not the most convenient mode of transportation. Especially if there is more than one of you. I think I would steal the Fiancee's keys and drop him off at his meeting......

I'm not sure if you have to have a reservation from SNA, but we used them from LAX and it was easy.

It's a huge bus, grayhound style, and at LAX the arrive every hour and cruise the terminal. After they pick you up from the airport, you head to their processing center to pay for your ride. The processing center is near the HoJo's on Harbor. You could pay the fee and get off and walk the 5-7 minutes to the park. You would be the first one off the bus and to Disneyland in minutes.

Have fun.

Thanks Sonya. Airport Bus is actually the one I was considering. I am glad you had good service with them. I think I will call them and see what they say about reservations and stuff. Just one other question, is it an easy/safe walk from the processing center? Thanks:D

Goodness Yes the walk is safe.

We are actually staying at the HoJo's in Novemeber and will walk every day and night to the park. There are many hotels and eateries on the way. You will be in between Hojo's and Mimi's (a great place to grab a muffin to eat on the walk or lunch) then pass a hotel, a McDonalds, a few more hotels and then you will be at the cross walk. Pushing a stroller it didn't take me more than 7 minutes to get to DL front Gates. There is a cross walk with a light and that is the longest part, waiting for the light to turn :bounce:

After you cross the street (harbor) you will be near the shuttle/tram area. A few minutes to walk past that and you will see the front gates of DL and DCA. :hyper: I get excited just thinking about it.

Have fun and don't forget to ask about single rider at Splash Mtn and Indy (if they are open when you are there). Take your camera and ask strangers to take pictures of you with the characters and with nice scenery in the back ground.

Puffkin,

I would also suggest Supershuttle from SNA right to Disneyland if you wish. They will take you door to door and you can book round trip if you like or hopefully have your husband meet you there after work!

Cost as Sonia said is around 14.00 each way and tip if you wish. I usually don't tip though if the driver is not handling luggage for me though (they are paid to drive the van anyways so why pay extra unless they give you extra service!)

Taxi is crazy expensive though, avoid them at all costs. The supershuttle can meet you at the taxi stand near the Harbor blvd. entrance after your day of Disney magic is done too.

Thanks,
whiles
