First time staying at WL--tell me why I'll love it!

We stayed at the WL on our honeymoon almost 8 years ago...I haven't been back to WDW since, so my memory is a bit hazy, but like others have said, the lobby is absolutely stunning. There are rocking chairs and sofas to lounge in by the fire, and when we were there, there was an awesome coffee bar in the AM's and it kind of transformed into a liquor bar in the evening. I understand it's not there anymore. We ate at all 3 of the restaurants and had room service- it was all good. I had some blueberry stuffed French Toast at Artist Point (it was a character breakfast then- isn't anymore) and it was sooooooooooo yummy! The stream flowing down into the pool is really cool...a very homey, cozy atmosphere. My favorite memory of that trip is realizing that some of the music was from Last of the Mohicans soundtrack- we had that CD at home so we would listen to it to remember our honeymoon. :-)

When we went, it was January, the crowds were low and at that time the WL didn't share transportation. The only nightmare was coming back from PI one night- it seriously was about an hour before our bus came....we were so tired and a little loopy to boot that I got a bit cranky...but the bus services to any other park was fine. And the launch to the MK is exciting! It's an attraction before you even step foot into the park!

We are going to stay at the CR this time with the SoG deal, but you can bet we will be visiting the WL for dinner and reminiscing. My parents are coming on this trip, and my Mother in Law and it will be fun showing them where we spent the first week of our married life.

Oh, someone mentioned about cheaper rooms- I think we were in one. It was on the 6th floor, and it faced the parking area, where the busses picked up. It had a queen bed and was a little small for such a luxurious hotel. As I recall, it had an armoir, a chest of drawers, two nightstands, a table with two chairs and no balcony. I think we could open our outside door, but I could be wrong...The sink was outside of the bathroom, so it was convenient for one person to shower and the other to brush teeth, etc.

Have fun!!

We recently returned from our first ( & definitely NOT last!!) stay at WL!! The atmosphere there is sooo relaxing!! The rooms are well laid out & the bed was very comfortable to come crash in after a long day at the parks. We thought the food at Roaring Forks was pretty good. Our room (#3151) had a beautiful view of the pool & the nightly water pageant. All the cast members that we dealt with were very pleasant. We didn't have any transportation problems. We really enjoyed the WL tour conducted by Stan. Unfortunately, the flag family was already booked up--we will try to do this next time. As many others already mentioned, the lobby is breathtaking--especially at Christmas!! I don't think that you will be disappointed!! Have a wonderful trip!!

Hey Blondie!
Youll love the WL!! We have stayed several times.
It is nice and small so ou dont have to hike to get anywhere!
The pool is nice, and the boat to Mk is really nice.
As far as the bus transportation it is not a big fan of it but... Not horrible.
My DD loves this hotel because of the bunk beds! WE stayed one time ont eh first floor facing the pool it was so cool we could walk straight out to the pool and walk across the pool area to the food court it was sooooo convient.
Enjoy!!
