We (myself, DH, and 2 adult DDs) arrived for our first ever stay yesterday afternoon. Staying in a cabin. I absolutely love it here and the cabin has been perfect for us. We splurged on a golf cart - what fun this has been. DDs were in charge of decorating it. I love the memories we have already made!

We are glad you have had a great 1st experience with the Fort, @DogDoc94

Many of us LOVE the Fort and enjoy it as it is. And was.

As I've said elsewhere, the DVC Cabins are (to me) still part of the Fort Wilderness Campground and Resort. They had to be replaced due to their age (the previous "Legacy" cabins were placed in the late 1990s) so we understand getting DVC to pay to replace them and what that entails.

For the record, I think golf carts are an expensive convenience but not a necessity. I'd rather spend that daily cost on extra dining, plush merch, or premium experiences. But your mileage may vary (YMMV).

I hope you aren't spending ALL your days in the parks and get a chance to relax and "vibe" the Fort. Find a flock of wild turkeys wandering around the Fort loops on your days off from the parks. We've camped many times in the Tent loop 1500 and seen the vultures (not pretty birds at all) gliding/soaring over the pavement/road loop through the trees. Ya know, I sit in my campsite and watch the little kids ride their bikes round-and-round our loop over-and-over (and over) again. (I'm sure their Mom is waiting for them to come by THEIR site each time) but I also watch the vultures drift past MY site over the road pavement (no trees to block their glide).

Check out the movie/singalong/campfire each night near the Bike Barn and visit Chip & Dale there too (see the stickeyed calender at the top of the Camping Board).

Go down to the Bay Lake Beach at the Settlement to watch the MK fire works and listen to the piped in music (to the right of the dock). Visit the horse barn down by Hoop Dee Doo and even press the Calliope button for me.

Where else can you have THIS much fun at your home resort on your days off from the parks? :cloud9:

Keep it secret, keep it safe

Thanks for taking the time to make sure I’ve got the intel! We were on site for over 24 hours before we set foot in a park which was a first for me. It’s so cozy and relaxing. Being able to sit outside and hear the birds is priceless.
A big thank you to the people who bring their dogs. I miss mine when we’re away and seeing families walking their pups brings me such joy.

First up this morning is a trail ride for DDs. Then kayaking and Hoop!
