First time staying at Swan!

I am SO excited. My DH and I are going to Naples for a week, the first part of it we're going to Disney for a few days. The Swan was a great deal for Sat & Sundays night! We fly in really late on Friday so we're staying in the Downtown Disney area and then switching to the Swan. I've never stayed so close to a park - and we LOVE the Belle View lounge at the Boardwalk. SO EXCITED!!!

What recommendations does everyone have to try/do at the Swan or in the Boardwalk area? Any "hidden" secrets to check out? Or tips for the Swan?

Loved this hotel and the kids always ask to go back. We now have a tradition of going to Beaches and Cream for a treat and then enjoying just strolling around the entire path around the lake. Sitting over on the boardwalk with a drink people watching is fun too. The S/D is gorgeous and has a nice pool area. One of our fun memories was taking the boats to and from DHS and Epcot from the S/D. We even saw our first baby alligator from the dock at DHS! Make sure to walk through the hotel lobbies, gift areas, etc around the BW area. Relaxing...... And from our experiences and talks with friends, the S/D beats the rooms at the BW and YC! The breakfast buffet at the Swan is very good too. have fun!

Anyway, when we stayed at Swan, we liked to walk down to the Boardwalk and go to the bakery and get cookies and then walk over to Epcot and watch the fireworks. It's really nice because the International Gateway gets you right into the heart of World Showcase to see the fireworks. You don't have to fight the crowds walking through Future World to get back to Illuminations. And the Gateway puts you right in England, where we like to watch the fireworks from next to the fish and chips shop. It doesn't even get crowded until about 15 mins before the show starts. Be sure to go to the pool, it's pretty nice. And take advantage of the boats and walkway to Hollywood Studios. It's really convenient!
