First Time Skaters at Olaf Rink

I thought you meant two blades like this - http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing?.out=jpg&size=l&tid=25507159 (which I found when I googled after reading your post.)

I have to admit that I can't really see the two blades/edges in the photo (post #14), but the drawing (in post #2) makes it seem like they're distinct. Are the two blades/edges really distinct or is it something that can't really be seen without a magnifying glass? If they're hard to see, maybe that's why I've never noticed the two blades on the skates that I've seen in my local ice rink.

The double blade that ClaraOswald mentions is also what first came to mind and I can see how that will help kids learn to balance/skate. It's kind of like roller skates versus inline skates.
