My mom is getting older and wants to rent an ECV at EPCOTfor our upcoming trip in November. My fiance and I are going early for the opening and my mom is meeting us later in the morning. Can we rent an EVC for my mom in the morning? Do we have to take it with us right then and there or can we leave it in the (EVC parking lot) and pick it up a little later in the morning? My fiance and I are going to see a few attractions and would rather not have to drive the EVC with us until we meet up with my parents/mom.

any help with this would be appreciated

thanks,

It is probably best for your mom to rent from an offsite compnay. They will deliver the ECV right to your resort. Check the FAQ at the top of the page for more info. :sunny:

From my own experience, I relied on the park rentals for two trips and they are very hard to come buy if you aren't there early. I also had one run out of power as it was used earlier in the day.

I rent from off site and love it. I am able to zip around the resort and have a ball. Where are you staying? If you are at one of the Epcot area resorts she won't even have to use a bus or water taxi and can come and go as she pleases. I was able to beat my husband on the water taxi to the Dolphin from Epcot.

Yes, you pretty much HAVE to take it when you rent it. Any key works in any ECV; if you left it in the rental area, it could get rerented by accident. You can ASK at the rental counter if there's somewhere they could 'hold' it, but don't count on that. The renting offsite suggestion is an excellent one.

We are staying at the Port Orleans French Quarter. My mom just needs the motorized vehicle for EPCOT since it's a big park so I'm not sure if we want to use an outside company for one day.

I would agree with RNMOM. Animal Kingdom is a big park also, and MGM really is not small. Renting from off-site will give a better vehicle and it will always be available.

Let me tell you, All the parks are big, Animal Kingdom has ups and downs and uneven pavement in places.I was happy I had my ECV with me.
I would have never had made it on foot..
I own my oen ECV, But before that we rented from scootarama.com they deliver and pick up and are not too costly..
