First time renting dvc points question

Hi everyone - My family has been to Disney numerous times, but we have always booked packaged deals through the website. This time we have rented dvc points from a reputable website. My question is the agent I am working with told me to let her know when I was ready to order my park tickets and to fill out the form and she would take care of it and send me the information so I can link them into our MDE, but can I order my own tickets and get the number and link them myself? In my original request sent in I did have park tickets on the request form and that may be why she sent this back to me. Any advice or feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

You can purchase your tickets however you'd like and link them to your reservation via the My Disney Experience (MDE) website. The broker that rented you the points should have given you a reservation number which you can also link to your MDE. There are plenty of ways to order your tickets that are cheaper than buying them directly from Disney.

As pp mentioned you can get your own tickets and link to MDE. If you want the dining plan then you do need to go through the rental company with a gift card or credit card.
