Can I rent points from more than one person to get to the total amount of poitns needed or do I need to rent them all from the same person so they can book the reservation for me?

points don't do you any good. MS will not even speak to a non-owner.

what you are technically doing is renting a reservation.

so you can rent one reservation for 3 nights and then another reservation for 4 nights from a different owner and ask them to try to link the stay to the 1st reservation. but it's easier to book all of the nights with one owner.

it's getting a little dated but this thread is a good place to start:

you might also want to check out david's link on the rent/trade board.

fyi, MS cannot link reservations made from seperate members or from multiple membership numbers under a single member (as i found upon booking 6 nights for a friend, who added 2 nights using her points). you can ask at check-in however.
you can rent individual nights from seperate members - it's just a bit more time-consuming. the other option is to have member B transfer the amt of points you need to member A, and member A would make the full reservation. most members would be reluctant to do this however, as there is a "one transfer in or out per year" rule.
you can also try david's rentals, a sponser on the boards.
hth:)

Unless it has changed, you can link reservations from different members. One time I booked night 1, a friend booked night 2, then I booked nights 3 & 4. All 3 reservations were linked, so that when we checked in, we got keys that covered all 4 nights, just like it was 1 reservation.

I have also done this as well, in February of last year my parents ended up coming with us and we changed our 1 bedroom to a two for fewer nights, and rented a reservation from another member for the balance and the two were linked.

Linking can still be done but Member Services has become very picky about this process. Both/all members involved in the transaction must be on a conference call to Member Services to accomplish this.

It can be done, but to save yourself some frustration it would be easier to rent all the points from the same person.

It would be a lot easier to rent all from one person and have them make on reservtion. Linking is not an easy task, we spent a lot of time on the phone last year and there was still some problems since it was a complicated transaction

Best yet, think about renting a reservation and not renting points. Like Charles already said, if you are not a member points are worthless to you. You need a reservation and need a member to make one for you. Find a member who can make that reservation that you need.
