Planning a cruise on Magic for first time and need some info:

* wondering what the weather is like in November and should we be concerned about hurricanes/rough seas?

* are most of the excursions on the Western cruise ok for small children (ages 7 and 5)?

* better to stay in hotel near the port or airport the night before the cruise? What is MCO?

Thanks for all your help, I've learned so many tips from you veterans.

Hi dodger, and welcome to the cruise board! :)

Hurricane season ends November 30 so technically you are still in hurricane season, but I would not worry. The ships go around rough weather as much as possible and I have had some of the BEST weather in November.

Many of the Western excursions are fine for kids but others would not be. Which ones did you have in mind?

MCO is the airport code for Orlando International Airport. I personally like to stay at or near the airport if arriving late at night before the cruise, to avoid a drive to the port late at night. If you arrive in the late afternoon or early evening then it would be fine to take the trip to the port and stay at one of the port area hotels.
