First time on wait list

At 8am this morning and 11 months to the day of check in(Oct 24-30,19), and I had to be put on a wait list for a dlx value studio at my home resort AKV

I'm assuming that you're talking about AKV. Both Value and Club are actively being walked. Club you couldn't even start a walk right now. Value for the most part has had availability right at 8am but likely a very small number of rooms available (could be just 1) and they are booked immediately at 8AM. Keep trying to get it at 8AM but also keep stalking/waitlisting each day as you can. As people walk the previous days keep showing up.

I would think then all the monorail and BW areas would be getting walked too for F&W?

They aren't:t walking for September. They are walking for W&D in November, and for early December.

Value is a very small category. It is by no means assured at 11 months.

Op, there are only a handful of the value studios at akv. If that is what you will be trying to book on a regular basis, you will be disappointed. There are literally thousands of akv owners who book at the 11 month window and want those studios. Not near enough to go around.

With being able to modify online it's gotten to be quite easy to walk. The current availability for Value and Club studios show the definition of walking. Both are booked for 3 days into the 11 month period right now and both have availability show up daily as people move their reservations. The only way club will become available at all is once we get beyond someone's intended dates (today value is in the same situation though has had chances some days to get in recently).

Wow. Thank you both. Learned something new today and I agree, the being able to modify online, makes it much easier. I use it too to stalk in case I see something withiut canceling, which I used at least three times two weeks ago to modify an eight night ressie in January.

Yeah, I have a waitlist for the 24-30th.

If you have a 2nd WL to use I'd recommend just waitlisting the 24th....then WL the 25th separately, and piece it together. If someone drops the 24th your WL still won't come through because the 25th and 26th are booked. I think you could piece it together day by day but getting the full week at once will be tough as others will grab days as they come available. Wishing you good luck either way though!!!

MS told me if I did a WL for today's date to the 30th. I would lose the 24-30.

I would just do single day WL (or stalk the RAT). The chances of having a full week hit the WL seems quite low even though all of your days will likely become available day by day.

After talking to DH, we just might change to a Standard view.
Seems to be easier to book.
We've never stayed at Kidani, so might try there.

If you did still want to piece it together, the 24th is currently available but we also enjoy staying at Kidani (last stay was a standard studio there) so you can't go wrong either way.
