This is our first time on the property and I have some questions.
If anyone would be able to answer them it would be great.

I was told if you fly into orlando your bags will be forwarded to your room.
Is this true? If so does that mean you are also checked into the hotel?
This would alow us to go to the park right away.

If you have length of stay passes do you have to get your hand stamped if you go back to your room?

Is the transportation on the property good or do you wait alot?

We want to goto sea world what transportation options are there.
I don't want to rent a car and just have it sit in the lot.

How does kid exchange work? We have two small children but still want to go on some of the big rides.

Do you get much time with the characters at a character meal?
I am afraid they will just rush right by.

How does it work if you include your meals in your ticket price?

That's all I want to bog people down with for now.
If anyone could answer these questions it would help me plan a wonderful trip to a wonderful place.

Thanks
Doug

Yes, Magical Express picks up your bags at the Orlando airport and delivers them (and you) to your resort. You can read about it inmore detail on the transportation board. You still need to check in at the hotel, and since the Magical Express bus takes you to the resort, you might as well check in and then head to the park. If your room is not ready, they will be glad to hold you bags and deliver them to the room when its available.

If you have hopper passes, you can go in and out of any of the 4 parks in a day. If you plan on going back to the same park later that day, yes, you can get your hand stamped for re-entry.

Depends on a lot of factors (where you stay, when you go etc), but we have found the bus transportation to be very efficient. There's also the monorail, and some resorts have boat transportation, too.

If you don't want to take a cab, the best way is to take the LYNX bus #50 from the Disney Transportation Center. Tell the driver you are going to SW and they drop you off right there. I think its about $3 per person round trip.

When you enter the line, tell the Cast Member that you want to do Baby Swap. Then Mom rides, while Dad and babies wait, and when Mom gets off, Dad rides while Mom waits w/ babies!

Again, it depends on the place, how crowded etc, but I think the characters try to make it around to everyone and everyone gets a good amount of "quality" time :teeth:

If you add the dining plan to your package, each person (over 3) gets 1 table service (like a character meal), 1 counter service (fast food type) and 1 snack per night of your stay. Kids under 3 eat free, and kids 3-9 (I think) are less expensive. Check out the dining board for more info.

Hope this helps!!!

may I jump on the question bandwagon?

*jumps*

ok, we're flying into mco, but hiring a car, could I send our bags with the magical express? I'm planning to drive via a big walmart to pick up bottled water and a few other things we'll need...

also, the disney dining plan? is it easy to use, do you have to prebook everything?

I'm thinking of doing it for at least part of our trip as dh adored his meal at crystal palace.

YES the dining plan is AWESOME!! If you like to have character or sit down meals then the dining plan is a must do.

If you do have a car pick you up, you should take your bags with you in the car. I would not try using ME to get your bags to the room but not the person. I don't think they would do it anyway, but not 100% sure.

yay!! I think between the drinks/ice cream bars and a lunch we'll be full most days, can you combine two (or more?) table service credits to eat somewhere fancier?

I really need to read up on this!

If you want to eat somewhere fancy, like California Grill for example, or do a dinner show like Hoop de Doo, then you can use two Table Services/per person to pay for it.

Kids under 3 eat free only if they eat from a paying person's plate. IE: Mom or Dad can share but the under 3 will not be ordering from the menu. A meal ordered would cost a credit, no matter what the age of the consumer.

Lots of people will disagree but we would not be there without a car. Whatever you do, enjoy!!

Wow, HLA... great answer(s)!
To the OP, Welcome to the DIS! :cheer2:
Just want to make sure on your 1st point that you do indeed tell Disney that you want Magical Express and have signed up for such. You'll need the ME luggage tags to make that happen. Your bags may not arrive the same time you do at the resort, but once you check-in you can infact make your way to the parks and let-it-happen! Enjoy!
