Hi everyone, I am huge Disney fan and have been to WDW more times than I can count but I have been dreaming of going on a Disney Cruise for years!
We are departing Port Canaveral on the Dream on the 14th of this month on a 4 night bahamian cruise. Can you please offer suggestions on what to bring? Any special tips or things that we definitely should not miss out on?
We already made reservations at Palo and booked a tour of Atlantis..
Thank you so much!

There are a number of threads on this board relating to both of those... packing and tips. Just do a search by keyword and you will be inundated with advice on everything from what to wear for Pirate Nightpirate: to what not to miss ordering from room service :mickeybar!
Above all, enjoy your cruise!

check your navigators each night and read thoroughly (daily activity guide)

also check the first one you get at the port checkin. it will tell you if you need to pick up free tickets for any events such as Princess Gathering

i have only been on Magic, but the "Art of the Theme Ship" tour was absolutley wonderful

you can wear bathing suit under clothes at checkin and hit the pool immediately while you wait for stateroom to open (about 1:30 pm)

you won't be able to get it all in, especially on a four nighter, so make sure you relax and enjoy

be on time for your dining (if you use main dining room) because if you are seated with others they will wait for you 9dont know how big group is)

great adult only areas to check out

watch the nightly shows, they are great for disney nuts!

make a reservation for Palo brunch on your sea day.

If you like the cruise, rebook onboard to bet the benefit of 10% off your next cruise and and on board credit as well.

We enjoyed the Blue Lagoon Dauphin encounter in Nassau! I would suggest you look into it. Think about riding the Agua duck early morning or during dinner and shows times. If your staying on board in Nassau, a good day for the Agua duck as well!

Yay!! What fun coming up. And, you've already picked two of the neatest things on this cruise (Palo and Atlantis).

Bring your camera and take lots of pictures. Order Mickey Bars from room service. Talk with every single CM you can on the ship, from your servers to the guys painting the deck. Every single one of them will be happy to tell you about what they're doing. Visit the exercise room (free, in the spa) for a workout with a view to die for. Order chocolate soufflé at Palo. Don't miss the sail away show the first afternoon.

So much to do. You're a WDW fan, so you know about too much to do in one visit. Same is true for the cruise, so enjoy what you do experience, and save the rest for next time :)

Here are a few...
-Decorate your door! it makes it easy to spot. you'll find examples on Disboards.
-they have this funny thing with the lights in the rooms. A room key (or old gift card) needs to be in the slot for the lights to work. So I attach at magnet strip (left over from my door decorations) to an any old gift card and keep it nice and handy on the inside of the door :0)
-don't bring shampoo/cond. or lotion! the stuff on board works fine. I always have to ask for more...
-No blow dryer needed either...they have one!
-something to stick your wet clothes in before packing on the way home.
-Keep meds (tylenol etc...) out of your suitcase the night before Disembarkation! My husband got a migraine that night & we left the meds in suitcase....
- nesting suitcase help with space in the room...
-The shows are good! don't miss them.
- if you are a runner, look in to the 5K it's fun! if not, try it! at least you can say " I did a Disney 5k!"
HAVE FUN!! YOU"LL love it!!! all disney fans love it!

Take a cheap air freshner that you can throw away and keep it in your bathroom. Get one of those waterproof holders you can wear around your neck or waist ro keep room cards, money, license, copies of passport while on excursions, downey wrinkle release, wooden clothes hanger things to hang dry swimsuits in the bathroom theres a liner you cam pull out near the shower head, decorate your door, ride the aquaduck right when you embark, and at night it's really fun too, free dessert at cove cafe in adults only section.

Being your own glow/light up jewelry for pirate night. It was fun to be all decked out.

Are you traveling with kids? If so, don't forget to bring some sand toys for castaway.

Plenty of sunscreen and a water bottle/reusae cup are great to have.

Awesome advice!!! So excited this is our first time on a DCL n 1st time ever cruising for our girls!!!

We've always had a table to ourselves. Just curious, what would happen if your table mates decide to eat elsewhere that night?

It's courteous to let your server and tablemates know that you will not be coming the next night. Or, maybe, at least leave a message with your head server that you won't be showing up that night, if it's a spontaneous decision.

Hopefully they are kind enough to let someone know ahead of time. We didn't eat in the MDR one night - spontaneous decision. We just happened to run into our table mates and let them know. I was heading to the MDR to let them know.
