What length of hopper pass would you get for Disneyland if it was your first time? Our kids are 4 and 7 so we're thinking we will start out early, go back to the hotel in the afternoon, and go back to the park in the evening. We're going July 7-17th but are going to spend a few days in San Diego to start.

Thanks!

I would get four day tickets. Three days is considered the minimum for a solid DLR visit and four is better. :wizard:

I agree with four. Three is my magic number, but that is with no kids. If I was going with children, or at least children that are tall enough to ride things other than Fantasyland rides, I might need four.

I agree with the above posters, 4 is great. Now if it were me, I'd do as many days as possible because even seeing/doing some thing twice never gets old!

We have two kids, ages 4 and 6 and we do 4 days as well, it seems just right. With 3 days, I would feel like we couldn't do everything we wanted.

With my stating 4 days....this summer I am considering buying the 5 day, even though we only will have 4 dedicated days to DLR, if I add the 5th day, it costs like $15 for all of us, and we may go into DL the night we check in to the hotel (travel day) and just spend a few hours... not sure yet.

3 day minimum, but I would do 4, just to be on the safe side. Our first trip as a family was 3 days (our boys were little) and we didn't get to do everything.

For sure 4 days, 5 if you can... then you can really be relaxed and have time go do your kids favorite rides 1 more time!!

I would do at least 4 if you can. Even after a 4 day trip many people feel like the time was too short after they return.

I think we'll do 5...I was considering 6 so with most people saying 4 then we'll do 5!

On a side note...called to add a night to our Hojo stay...annoyed that we only have a queen premium room--when we switched it from August (Kids suite) to July I am SURE she said "We don't have the kids suite but we do have the queen suite"....so....we can't stay in a regular room--I'll go crazy if we don't have some extra space where my husband and I can relax after the kids go to bed. Do I hope that a suite opens up??

:(

We just got back from our second trip to DL - kids are 5 and 7, so very close in age to yours. 2.5 years ago, we did 3 days at DL, and it was just too short. We felt rushed. This time, we got a 6-day hopper, spent 5 full days and 1/2 of the last day in the park. It was awesome, and my son didn't want to leave on the 6th day. We were still doing new things on the 5th day - and even on the 6th day!

The price increase to add days after a 3-day hopper is nominal, so I would do as many as you can, and that way you'll have plenty of time to see everything.

I got the 6 day parkhopper. It was only $16 more than the 5 because of the sale right now. This way, we can relax and have plenty of time. We will be there later this month.

Maybe I'll wait and see what prices are like for July and then decide. If it's only an extra $20 or so then I'd rather get the 6 and be able to go in that first night for an hour or two just to wander around.

I had dreams about Hojos all night...that can't be a good sign!

I have been looking at Tickets from Last Minute Travels website, they have great pricing to start with, and to increase from a 4 day to a 5 day for our family of 4 is only $12, to add another day wouldn't be much i'm sure!

We are going in July as well, I'm trying to decide if I should buy tix now since it's such a great price!

I like to go more days with little kids.
You'll Probably want to child swap for big rides or if they are asleep and that does take some time because basically you are waiting for 2 groups to get thru the FP line. I like 5 days, Especially if they nap or go to sleep early. If the weather is hot and you go back to the hotel. At 5 days we get to go at a good pace but don't feel bad if we go back to the hotel to get out of the heat. :)
if you are going without little ones then 3 is a good amount of time. :goodvibes

Five days will be fun. California Adventure also has great kid rides.

We have stayed at the Residence Inn down the street if you want more room. There is a trolley that picks up right in front of the hotel.

Can I even buy tickets yet?

I thought the ones that are available now are only good until the end of April?

Check Last Minute Travel! They have great prices, and I called today to be sure I can use them in July and Yep, I can! These are not the 'special' going on till end of April, just good pricing on regular tix.
