It is my familys (6 people) first time going to disney. im a little nervous cuz i dont no what to expect or really what to do. okay so my family and I are planning to go on Christmas vacation to Disney World. We plan to leave dec.20 and back for dec.27. I planed a vacation online at expedia but didnt book yet, and we would be staying at carribean resort inside disney.
But maybe we will be planning with a travel agent. were not sure which one is better and easier (help)??
I am also very confused about the whole express bus transport??!?
if i decide to book online how do i get those yellow tags i keep seeing people
write about??
also, is it true if you stay within disney you dont have to pay the ride admissions?

LOL...:confused3 sorry bout all the questions i just want to make sure i can make this trip a good one for my family!

My family and I will be going to WDW for the first time in September. We are really looking forward to the trip and have done a lot of planning for it. My first suggestion for you would be to go to your local bookstore or your library and get some planning books (I personally would suggest the Passporter and the Official Guide). Once you've read the introductory chapters of those books, Disney will make a lot more sense.

I found the DIS a very confusing site before I had background knowledge found in those books. I know I didn't really answer your questions, it just seems you needed a good place to start and I wanted to share with you what worked for myself and my DH.

Good luck planning!

Since this is your first family trip to Disney, I recommend either calling and booking directly with Disney, or booking with a very experience Travel Agent (a Disney specialist.) They will be able to answer all your questions, explain all things Disney, and help to make your trip magical.

As for traveling during Christmas week... it is the busiest time to visit, (and usually the most expensive... there is a discount code available through Dec. 23) If you can change the time you visit, even by a week or two, you'll will be able to see and do so much more. If you can only travel Xmas week, get to the parks at opening and also, take advantage of Extra Magic Hours (EMH).

If everyone in your family is over 3, you will need 2 rooms at CBResort.

To receive your luggage tags, once you have your flight info, you need to call Magical Express (ME).

Not sure what you are asking...
"also, is it true if you stay within disney you dont have to pay the ride admissions?"
Are you referring to...
Riding Magical Express?
ME is a free service provided for guest staying at Disney resorts. It will take you to and from the airport and your resort.
The ride attractions at the parks?
Staying on-site at a Disney resort has a lot of perks, but everyone must purchase admission to the parks.
Transportation around WDW?
Disney's transportation system is quite sufficient and there's really no need to rent a car, although some people prefer haing one.

Also, if you want to dine at any of the Table Service restaurants (TS), you'll need to book some Advance Dining Reservations (ADR).

There is a lot of info, here and also at mousesavers and allears, to help you have a great trip. Think about each step... time of year to visit, where to stay, type of tickets... base tickets, hoppers, etc., dining plan or not, dining reservations, must-see-and-do park attractions for you family, and a touring plan (which park, which day, EMH, etc.)

Have fun planning!

First of all:welcome: to the dis. You really need to go to your nearest book store or library and purchase a good guide book. Are you going this Christmas, not to scare you but you really need to move on this fast.WDW is the busiest it ever is during xmas week.I am not sure whether you should use a TA, if you have no idea about Disney a good Ta is invaluble, a bad one is a disaster for your vacation.Don't worry at this momoent about the Magical Express airport transfer or the yellow tags....this is the least of the priorities right now.Firts and foremost, book the trip or you may not be able to get reservations, decide on ticket admissions for the themeparks, then worry about which parks you will visit and on what days, followed by resturant reservations.I don't understand about your question regarding if you stay in Disney you "don't have to pay for ride admissions?".If you mean transportation between theme parks and your resort, then no you don't pay for that. But you do pay for theme park admissions to ride the rides and attractions at the theme parks.I know this seems so overwhelming.Just go get a book and start reading, and it will definitely become clearer.
