First time going to Disneyland need help

Thanks our thought was to do a VIP one day to do all the rides and attractions then spend the next 2 days absorbing the history and the atmosphere and FOOD (which I heard is excellent in Disneyland). Question will a VIP tour do both parks? Or are you limited to one?
If you have Park Hoppers, you can do both parks.

I saw a video on the World of Color dessert party and that looked like a nice experience. Any experiences you can recommend that are MUST DO?
The World of Color desert party if you are willing to spend the money, is one of the best ways to see the show. You get a great view and you get to sit down, which can be wonderful after a long day of walking in the parks.

My fam enjoys WoC and we'll be doing our first dessert party in June. However they LOVE Fantasmic, so definitely try to check that out! In the past there have been dining package options for that too, but not many details yet on when those are returning and how they will work.

We did the Fantasmic Blue Bayou package and we throughly enjoyed it, but I wasn't sure if that was coming back or how it would work. Based on what other have people said, the WoC desert party seemed almost exactly like what I done so I would reccomend it with confidence.

Fantasmic is equally amazing and totally worth seeing.

Thanks so much! We were thinking a VIP tour for one day and hopefully be able to knock out the rides we dont have in WDW or ones that are different, pirates, Mansion, etc. then spend the other 2 days revisiting where we want to spend more time and enjoying the atmosphere. Want to enjoy the differences. As I said Disneyland seems more "comfortable". Even when we do WDW we dont run thru rides we also enjoy experiences, shows, parades, I saw a video on the World of Color dessert party and that looked like a nice experience. My favorite thing at DLR are the "wandering" characters. I don't know if they're active right now, but it made the whole character experience more interactive. My sister wanted photos/autographs from as many characters as possible. At one point, she had wandered off to do her own thing, while I rode some roller coasters, and when I wandered back into Fantasyland from the hub, Peter Pan was frolicking around. He was one of the ones she hadn't been able to find, so I called her, then practically chased him around, so I could tell her where to find him. We eventually cornered him at the Sword in the Stone. He may or may not have given her an autograph, but I got some candid photos.

THIS is why Disneyland is my favorite park. It has a magical element that hasn't been completely corrupted by American queuing culture, because the characters are just so THEM. You tell them to stop, and they ignore or argue with you.

One of the things Walt Disney was trying to create was a place where things just happened without a schedule. He wanted people to feel as if they were just randomly at the right place at the right time for impromptu entertainment. You still get a little of that at WDW, but it's just not the same.
