We have 2 boys ages 4 and 6 and we are going to disney in a few weeks.

Please help me with any advice or tips! We got tickets (thanks to this awesome site) for a MHP and we are excited about that as well.
We havent told our boys yet and want to make it as special as possible without breaking the bank. Any tips for us?
Also any tips for the halloween party?
We will be in CA oct 20-25 and will have 3 park days and one beach day. Is there a day thats best to do the beach instead of the parks? Any really fun family friendly beaches nearby? (my husband and children have never even seen the ocean) and I havent been in 15 or so years!
Thanks so much! I am so excited!!!!!

EDIT: I may have read this wrong, I was assuming you meant you wanted to tell them in a fun but non-expensive way. If I'm way off base, forgive me lol.

You can probably put together a Disney-themed goodie basket from the dollar store/target for each of them. A coloring/activity book, pack of markers, a little toy etc. Maybe a reusable tote with a favorite character on it (stores probably have tons of trick or treat bags with disney characters right now) for MHP.

Your 6 year old is probably just learning to read, so what about making a puzzle for them? get a piece of posterboard and tape a picture of them on it, a picture of mom and dad, a picture of mickey, a picture of Lightning McQueen (I'm assuming your boys are probably Cars fans, but substitute with whatever), a jack-o-lantern, etc so you have a picture for each word or words, that form sentences when you're done. Cut into pieces once you've completed the design. Once it's all put together your older son can try and read it to the younger one. Clipart or your own doodles work fine, don't worry too much about getting it perfect

For example:

[Sons] are going on/in a [plane/car] with [mom and dad] to visit [mickey] and [lightning mcqueen] at their home in [disneyland] [california] for [halloween] in [number of days until trip] days!

I've always found that when being surprised I get more enjoyment out of figuring something out than just being told :) After they figure it out you could give them their activity bags or show them some youtube videos of what they'll see and do at Disneyland. Maybe have a mickey-shaped food and watch a Disney movie.
