Hi all!

We are frequent campers to Ft. Wilderness but this trip will be a new adventure. We have a new little camper in our family, our first. My DS will be 8months when we go in September. We go to WDW all the time so I am not concerned about the rides for us, but I would like to take him on some rides and I am not sure what he can go on. If anyone can help me out with any suggestion for bringing a baby for the first time to WDW I would be grateful.

Questions:
1.What rides can he go on? How big are the seats (still trying to lose some baby weight) don't get me wrong I won't be mistaken for the dumbo ride, but I wanted to fit my DH and baby in the seat with me.
2.Should I use a stroller or a carrier/if I use a stroller can I use the one I have that's from a travel system? I've seen many post on strollers but I am not sure why it's an issue.
3.What are the "baby centers" (is it inside)
4.Does WDW have any buttons or perks for first timers.
5. Any other advise pleas let me know

Thanks

The baby can go on everything except the thrill rides. I think most people could fit 2 adults and 1 baby on most of the rides. We usually have DH, DS 9, and myself riding together. We have always rented the strollers when we go to WDW, but lots of folks prefer to bring thiers from home. Your baby will love going to WDW! We brought our first DD when she was just 8 mos. also. Now she is 16 and can't wait to get there again! Have fun planning............:sunny:

Oh, you'll have great fun taking a little one! We took my great-niece when she was that age. They can go on anything without a height requirement and little ones are too young to be scared of the things that scare the older ones so he'll probably enjoy it all. She really enjoyed Pirates, the Haunted Mansion, both carousels, the WEDway (TTA), of course Small World--but that's still closed--Pooh, Peter Pan, and just looking around. She wasn't afraid of the characters at that age, either. You shouldn't have any problem fitting the three of you in most seats, either, because the baby will be in your lap.

I'd take whatever stroller you like--make sure it has a good sunshade and will recline for naps (the baby, only, sorry). The nice thing about strollers at FW is that you don't have to fold them to go on the big boat to the MK. Most personal strollers are navy and that can make it difficult to find yours in a sea of blue so it helps to put something on the handle--a luggage tag, ribbon, bandana, etc. I've never lost a stroller but it is the real world so don't leave anything important in your stroller. We got a clear plastic backpack from WalMart and all our stuff fits in there and it makes getting through security a breeze! Just grab the backpack and baby and you're good to go on a ride or show.

The Baby Care Centers are in each park. It is a nice, cool, inside place with rocking chairs, a nursing room, bathrooms, several changing tables, a microwave, a little kitchen area, and things to buy. Check them out--they can be helpful.

Don't know of anything for first timers, but you'll have lots of fun! Feel free to PM me (private message--just click the button below my post--sorry if you already knew that!) if you have any more questions!

My best friend makes and sells baby slings, and that's a must for us for toting babies and toddlers. My youngest will be three-and a half by the time we get there, and I'm still bringing mine for the parades and fireworks and sleepy girl times. Snugglis and things like that kill my back, but my sling saves me every time.

If you'd like to see some pictures, go to my friend's website. She also sells mesh and Solarveil slings, which are good in the water and out in the sun.

She ships internationally, with very reasonable prices.

Good luck!

I have to second the sling. We took all ours as babies and the sling was great. There are so many places you can't take the stroller (the buildings at EPCOT come to mind) and you can get so stinking tired trying to just hold a wiggling 8 mo old. Other plusses are, the babe's at eye-level, great for interaction, and there is more versatility for position than the snugglies.

A stroller is great, too. mostly for carrying all the stuff associated with babies. And when she's asleep in the stroller, it feels like a date :jester:
