Hello, I'm taking my DW,DD,DS and MIL to disney nov 12-19. We were going to bring our stroller for DS 18months. Can you take the stroller on the plane with us or do we have to check it with our luggage :confused3

Congratulations on your trip... My family will be going to Disney on Nov 23rd.

You can bring your stoller with you through the airport all the way to the airplane door. Get a GATE CHECK TAG from the attendant at the counter. Leave it at the airplane door... preferably folded... not everyone knows how those silly stollers fold up. The airline attendants will put your stroller in the cargo area of the plane. When your plane lands... the stoller will be brought back to you at the airplane door.

We took a AirTrans Airways flight in April & we took our umbrella stroller with us. They let you use it up until you board & they tag it for you, give you a receipt & put it under the plane (in the luggage area I guess). When you get off (before you go into the airport)just outside the plane, but not across the walkway yet, the crew went under & got it for us themselves. So you were only without it when you were physically on the plane. That was our experience this year & it was pretty easy! :thumbsup2

We just flew for the first time in May on Jetblue with our 2 kids. We gate checked our stroller with no problems. You get a tag to hang on your stroller and just hand it to them right before stepping on the plane. It was so easy and it was waiting for us when we got off the plane. We will be going again the same time as you and we will gate check the stroller again.

A few more tips about gate checking a stroller:

1) always fold it yourself and latch it closed. If it doesn't latch or if the latch is weak then it's a good idea to bungie it closed so it doesn't pop open on accident when it's being moved around. I have heard of strollers getting broken because the baggage attendants either don't know how to properly fold the stroller or because they just are in a hurry and can't take the time to figure it out and will force it closed.

2) if you have any removable accessories ie canopy, parent or child tray, cupholders, etc, then remove them and pack them in your checked luggage. Put them back on after you arrive at your resort. You likely won't need them in the airport anyway and it will prevent something from either being broken or falling off and getting lost in transit.

Also, I recommend reading the traveling with children tips on the TSA website. Here's a link: TSA.gov traveling with children Just thought I would mention it so you will basically know what to expect when going through the security screening process at the airport.

hth!

I travel quite often with my daughter and I also recommend purchasing a bag to put your stroller in. I have a Peg Perego Pliko and bought the Peg Perego bag. My bag has several grease marks on it and what not from being put in the cargo hold but my stroller is still in great shape. The bag also will catch any part of anything of your stroller that might fall off in all the handling and moving. Have a great trip and enjoy your flight!

We are flying with my DS 6 and DD 4 to Disney for the first time. :cool1: We have rented a car so I will need to bring a car seat for my DD do we need to check it?
