Is it any fun anymore for kids to fly for the first time? When I was little each time I flew I got a pin and a treat from the stewardess. It is a suprise for them, they won't be told until we reach the airport, just in case one stresses out too much! Any idea what I can expect for them or be prepared for? We fly out on Wednesday morning so I am sooo close!!TIA!

We flew into SNA last year with my kids for the first time. Thet were completely unimpressed with it. I think all the video games, takes some of the fun out of life :goodvibes . We flew Alaskan and they did give the boys some really neat Disneylend coloring books. I brought some coloring books and a small travel lego toy, those things made the flight alot easier. I also found that my oldest son cannot sit at a window seat or he gets "carsick", which he doesn't get in a car. :confused3 Have a great time

Depending on your airline, they may offer you a pair stick on set of wings and a tour of the cockpit. We fly continental and they usually offer this everytime to my DD. We also take activities for her as well, ninentendo DS, colors/books, snacks etc

I am packing trying to keep everything a secret. I have packed the dsi and a dvd player for layovers, and a couple of books too. I am hoping it is something they always remember...fondly!!

DH and I kept our trip last May a secret from our boys. It was so hard. We were able to get all packed up and the suitcases hidden until we went out to the van to head for the airport.

My kids love to fly to DLR - but our flight is only 1.5 hours. We have flown JetBlue and Delta with our kids and they prefer JetBlue since they have the TV in the headrest and they can bring headphones and watch cartoons. We don't bring a lot of stuff with us on our flights, since they are pretty short. I do bring some extra snacks (granola bars or goldfish) in case anyone gets hungry while we are flying.

The boys did get some stick on wings when we flew the last time, but they aren't a pin and don't stay on very well. No offer to tour the cockpit - I didn't know that this could still happen with today's security measures.
