First time family of 5

There are perks and pros and cons to all hotels.
My #1 advice is how much time do you spend at the hotel/the room?
And what do you value? Some value a lower price over having more room in the room or proximity to the park.

Do keep in mind that at the moment, there are 3 exclusive perks left of staying in the Disneyland Hotel.
- Proximity to the park
- Private Princess Meet & Greets
- The kids club.

Everything else they started with: the exclusive access to Royal Banquet, Table de Lumiere (officially still exclusive), princess make over, the shows in the lobby, bar & gift shop are now available to all.
Especially annoying with the bar. The bar is a favourite with locals and content creators, so it can sometimes be difficult to get a seat.

Next to that, of course it is recently renovated and beautiful :)

How is the weather in August? The summer is best for me to take time off from work here in Florida.
30+ degrees Celsius in France is not the same as 90+ degrees Fahrenheit in Florida.
The temperature might be the same, but it's a different kind of heat. We don't really have humidity here.
What you will see is that almost all lines in Paris are covered. That is great when it rains or when it is cold. But also when it's Summer.
They have some misters spread throughout the park.

We don't have air conditioning like in the US, but going into shops will still be a good option when you need to cool down.

Oh. Mickey bars taste different here :P

I dont know why I bother, but the info may be useful to those reading, even if you think you know better than someone who has been to Disneyland Paris multiple times.

Even in hotels which advertise air conditioning, its not not blast freezer cold American air conditioning. The hotels are designed and made for Europeans, so no matter where you go, the air conditioning will not be like you expect in Walt Disney World Florida.

When someone who has first hand experience tells you that a hotel is not worth the price, isnt it better to save that money and use it to bump your spending money and maybe use it get experiences, merchandise, food etc.

Its a classic American first timer to Disneyland Paris mistake, thinking that you "know" things, because you have have been to the American parks.
Maybe they are willing and can pay for the experience? You gave your opinion and OP stated they want to stay at the DL Hotel. So stop trying to criticize their preference! Classic European arrogance! No offense to the other Europeans here who are actually helpful and nice about it.

I agree with Bad Pink Tink 2

Mile8308 How many times have you been to Europe ?
We do not like Freezing cold air .... a nice gentle Breeze will do. to cool us down Or open a window at night.

If the op wishes to stay at the DL Hotel then so be it . I hope they enjoy

their time there

Just a reminder to everyone be courteous in replies. I've let posts stand at the moment but if will delete some in future if need be.

OP I say life is short & go with where you wish to stay :)
